So, first of all, I'm the type who rarely leaves reviews. When I do though I'm thorough, & it means I was moved by my experience & I'm thorough. In this case, I found a new favorite Cafe:
This was my first time visiting this cafe. I went with a friend and my well trained service dog. The moment we walked in the door the rich scent of cardamom welcomed us with an ambient atmosphere. The decor was absolutely stunning with what I believe to be Turkish decor. My friend didn't take long to decide, but I had to think a while. Everything sounded delicious! The team member at the register was very patient in this regard. After deciding he took my order. I initially asked if he could make one of the blends as an oat milk latte & he indicated it should be good, but after checking with the barista team members it turned out that one couldn't be made that way. He promptly let me know & offered an alternate recommendation. I was completely okay with that & appreciated both his honesty as he noticed the situation, & his recommendation. I ended up with a Mufawar iced latte, & chose to include sugar. I also got the pistachio Turkish tres leches. My friend got the pistachio iced latte (I think with sugar), & the rose Turkish tres leches. We agreed to each split our Turkish tres leches with each-other, so I got to try both flavors.
Although there were at least two people in front of us when we arrived our drinks were prepared quite quickly, & were ready not long after we finished checking out. When they arrived it looked even better than I'd expected. We sat on one of the Turkish style couches along the wall. *(It felt wrong calling it a booth & couch doesn't feel right, so I just looked it up. If accurate, it's called a divan. Leaving my comment prior to acknowledge I just learned that.)
The divan seat was very comfortable. It was soft, but also firm enough to have some support. The colors were beautiful & added into the warm ambience of the cafe. After sitting down & dividing our cakes we took a bite, & sipped our lattes. The Mufawar latte was nice and creamy with earthy notes & a rich, slightly nutty undertone almost reminiscent of a gentle chocolate. The coffee felt smooth & was noted in perfect harmony with all flavors incorporated. The sugar added what I consider the perfect level of sweetness. It was sweet enough to be noted at the level that's happy & uplifting, but not so sweet it's overwhelming or taking away from the other flavors. They really honed the flavor balance there. Additionally it tasted as if quality ingredients were used to craft it. Absolutely delicious!!!
Both of the Turkish tres leches were delectable! The light cake merged in harmony with the rich milk blend adding a moisture where it almost gives the illusion of being juicy while melting in the mouth & retaining both it's form & splendor. The cream topping is a bit sweet to me, but the cake & milk blend balance it well.
The pistachio flavor adds a certain gentle sweetness with a soothing yet also vibrant happy flavor. It's not overpowering & very enjoyable. I absolutely adore how they topped it with rose petals!
The rose flavor was probably my favorite. I'm admittedly a bit bias there, as rose is almost always my favorite flavor in sweets. This one was made with more delicate rose flavor notes. The balance was almost that of a gentle accent, but I could still tell it was present. *For those who love rose, but prefer it more subtle, or tried it once, but it was too strong, I'd recommend trying this cake if curious. Very tasty!
I definitely hope to be back one day! Looking forward to trying the other latte flavors & their teas too. I also want to try their caramel Turkish tres leches & other desserts. I will get the rose again sometime too. I adore rose flavors!!! This is my new favorite cafe! Best coffee I've had yet, beautiful presentation, wonderful atmosphere, & great service!
To the Cafe: Keep doing what you're doing here! From what I've seen you're doing an amazing job! Thank you all, & I look forward to the next time I...
Read moreI stumbled across this place as my hotel was right next door to the plaza that this was in. My mom and I had the Qamaria Latte, I had the iced version and she had the hot. We were excited to try it, as it has cardamom and cinnamon in it. As Finnish people, we thought it smelled just like pulla! Pulla is a Finnish style coffee bread made with cardamom. There are also cinnamon roll pulla's. We were both impressed with it, and I would have wanted to try all the other options. The coffee did not have any bitter notes to it which was amazing. The interior is lovely.
And to top it off, the baristas were amazing, as I had left my purse there and went back an hour later to get it, and they had it behind the counter. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop to anyone and everyone, I would have loved to get the chance to sit in and have my coffee there as it was a wonderful vibe, sadly I had to just do take out. If I am back in the area, I will go again, and this time...
Read moreThe coffee was good and I was going a few times a month. When I went last winter, I ordered my usual coffee and asked the cashier for a cup of water as well. He ignored that. After I got my cup of coffee I went up again to ask for water and the guy told me that I had to buy a bottle of water they don't give out cups.
Meanwhile a table of about 5 ladies in their 50s were sitting there with cups of water lol. I wish I said something at the time. I just stared at them and stared back at him. I just told the cashier okay never mind and sat down. I haven't been back since.
The employees need to learn to treat everyone equally. I'm not sure if he thought because I'm in my mid 20s he could treat me differently but I didn't appreciate that especially considering I had been in multiple times and when I asked him for a cup of water I was actively buying coffee. If it’s not my age .. what else was the issue here?
The situation put a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't...
