As someone who travels 80–90% of the time in support of human services and customer experience, I’ve long relied on durable, high-performing luggage to keep me moving efficiently. For years, TUMI was the brand I trusted—recommended by colleagues, family, and friends for its quality and reliability. But my recent experience at the Cabazon, CA location has left me deeply concerned—not just for myself, but for other travelers who may be investing in a brand that no longer lives up to its reputation.

When I visited the store with a warranty-covered issue just days before a flight, I was met with indifference, rigid policy recitations, and no meaningful support. No exchange. No onsite repair. No ownership of the customer experience. I was told to drive to another location or pay to ship my luggage for evaluation—despite being well within the warranty window.

This isn’t about frustration anymore. It’s about awareness. TUMI’s slogan claims they “design for you,” but that promise feels hollow when the product performance and service fall short. I’ve since heard similar stories from other customers—people who, like me, once believed in the brand’s commitment to quality and care.

To TUMI store teams across the country: I urge you to listen more closely to your customers. Match your service to the premium price tag your products carry. Honor the legacy of your brand by restoring the trust that built it.
