Castro's Back Room — Local services in Concord

One staff member in particular here is great to have around, very kind and willing to check on things if unsure. The prices on some brands can have a large markup, which is somewhat expected for a local shop. The hard part is when you wish to purchase a box, they hardly ever have one. Have called about buying 3 different boxes and they only had half a box or less each time and was told only one person could order so they couldn't order it for me. I was willing to wait longer and pay 30 dollars more to support a local business, but unfortunately it is not a service they seem to put high on the list. They also do not carry much as far as accessories or butane lighters. Other than this they have a decent selection and would recommend...

MAN has this place (Concord location) gone downhill IMHO. I was in there last week and the selection was much poorer than I am used to seeing there. Fewer choices and not a good selection of the tasty brands I like. Gloria Cubana, Flor Dominicana, Oliva, Padron, Fuente, Ashton, Davidoff, Mavanudo, and more. And the Castro's brand has gone up. Is something up with the industry?! And no more making you feel like am important client. I dropped around $250, and for that they've always thrown in at least a couple freebies. Not one such gesture this time. Granted, I only load up 2 or 3 times a year there, so maybe it's on me, but this was disappointing. Looks like it's time to pay 2...

Stepping into Castro's Back Room is like stepping back in time. Leather chairs and couches so a football or baseball game can be equally enjoyed while smoking either your favorite cigar or newest discovery. Wooden high back chairs with a Chess set ready for you to enjoy with a friend or maybe a game of Pool in the back of the store is more your style. Staff has always been friendly, helpful, and capable of offering on the mark suggestions. Decor is obviously focused towards guys but females have often and frequently visited the store. Accessories are readily available and are of quality, just like the store....
