During our recent stay: visually, I was most intrigued by the massive, hanging photographic art that depicts actual 'look' when exterior renovation is complete. I give those responsible A+ with star on forehead for: creativity that masks the ugliness of construction (to include noise to some degree) while advertising/selling finished product. I think tons of people walked by...never realizing hanging photo existed.
I am not a country club guy and do not have mindset that constantly/critically reviews how I'm being treated. I see what great people hotel workers are and I marvel at their willingness to serve and the work they perform. I see productive work and service as great therapy for all parties.
And, I see redevelopment and renovation plan that will provide enjoyment for guests and visitors for another 100 years. And, I hope ownership & management group enjoy economic success over time.
If I have critical side it relates to repair & maintenance and on-going improvements. We think planned maintenancec and immediacy are crucially important. I do see improvements that should happen...that do not appear planned.
Finally, run away inflation is greatest concern for del and our country in general.

Read moreFrom my perspective, working with Ruth Ann and Del Coronado Realty as the "Liason" to the Shore House Owners at Hotel Del Coronado has not been a positive experience. In my opinion, Ruth Ann is difficult, doesn't actively listen to Owner's concerns, lacks customer service skills and empathy and puts up roadblocks so that Owners are not able to use the Units they own for the allowed 90 days a year ... all in an effort to maintain control over Shore House and Beach Village property sales and direct more revenue to the hotel. In my opinion, Ruth Ann has a major conflict of interest as the "Liason" - she can't represent both sides of the Hotel Del Coronado/Shore House Owners equation fairly when she always leans towards what is best...
