Lavender Flower Day Spa Massage — Local services in Coronado

short version: This was a great deep tissue massage. would highly recommend.

All the details: after a fun game on the phone of "do you have appointments today?" "yes" "what times?" "when would you like to come?" "12?" "sorry, different time?" "um, 11?" "can you come 1030?" "no sorry, 11?" "ok,11" - i was feeling a bit nervous, as they didn't bother to take a name or number...

I arrived to the small spa across the street from the Del, a few minutes early. It was described as being next to subway, but is really on the other side of the building by the wedding chapel. no inconvenience if you park on the subway side. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO - do not use the underground parking... something stupid like $20 for 2-3 hours!!! and trust, from someone with experience, that driveway is REALLY hard to back out of. There's street parking, metered on both flanks of the building $.25/hr.

We walked in and were greeted with a big warm genuine smile and a namaste .... feeling a little better... and were ushered into a treatment room, for service. massage tables were wide and low to the ground, easy to get in and out of and warm enough. Lighting was dim, music was low. -Everything you expect from a small spa

then it started

the torture the pain the therapist using the wall as leverage for breaking the determined spirits of my over tightened muscles, wrought with lumps and knots. this petite woman- suddenly gained the strength of a professional arm wrestler while i was getting naked and laying down on the table. She was very polite and kind and checked in frequently to make sure i hadn't blacked out. And I laid there, and took it.... and was happy to be able to have gotten a same day appointment.

The next 90 minutes were a blur

all I can really say is i went in feeling terrible, came out a new woman.

I have never experienced such poor customer service. 3 of my family members and I went in for an hour long massage. I was in the same room as my sister getting the exact same massage. The massage therapist kept leaving the room, was unprofessional and did not seem like she was even trying but this wasn't the issue. I went out to pay for my massage with my sister, they charged her $62 and were about to charge me $72. I asked for an explanation as to why I was getting charged a higher amount. They then told me that my mother and other sister had requested 10 min extra to their massage and they had given us a 70 minute massage too so that's why it costs more.. but they only were charging me the extra amount. I never once was asked if I wanted an extra ten minutes nor did I ever request an extra 10 minutes. During the time that they were trying to explain this they had already gone ahead and swiped my card even though I was in the middle of trying to get an explanation for the higher cost. I had already planned to give a tip but bc I was over charged I left a zero amount in the tip line and thought i would just let this go because I just wanted to try and enjoy the rest of our vacation. Unfortunately, the employee then got hostile and asked why I chose not to leave a tip and if I was unhappy with the work of the massage therapist. I told the employee that I was already over charged because of their mistake that they were unwilling to make right. I am very disturbed by their behavior. I would not recommend that anyone ever go to this place of business and I will never return...

Let me just say.. for all you soon to be mommas out there 10/10 RECOMMEND!! I’m currently 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant and oh lord I was having so much pain and pressure all on my back and lower back and even close to my tailbone on the left, right, and middle. Just everywhere! This is my very first time coming here and I went ahead and did the 30 min prenatal massage for only $45 (worth the money btw! I would most definitely get a longer massage tho!) I didn’t even wait long either, I walked in they greeted me and too my temp and got me into a room right away! The room was very clean and sanitize, fresh and clean sheets and she gave me two pillows that I can wrap my legs around and lay on my side. She was very gentle but firm with me, kept asking me if I was okay or if it was a little too hard or soft, she was very professional, I was never in pain. I’m most definitely coming back here before and after I have my baby lol, and this is actually my very first time getting a massage, I’m very much impressed and satisfied! I walked in there with my body just ready to give up and walked out like I wasn’t even pregnant...
