In the past, I have loved going here but this last experience was not great. My husband surprised me with a birthday gift to get a very expensive spa mani and pedi here thinking I would be able to use the pool as well. It was so thoughtful and something I was really looking forward to. The cost was more expensive than any massage or facial Iâve gotten here in the past and I called before the appointment just to double check that I could use the facilities because in the past someone working there told me you could as long as you spent a certain amount in the salon. The front desk person I spoke to was incredibly rude and told me heâs worked there for 5 years and that they never let people use the facilities when booking treatments at the salon. When I asked what it would cost to use the facilities he responded âI donât know. Last time I checked it was $95 or somethingâ. Again, so rude. All I wanted to do was read my book by the pool for an hour or so as a part of my birthday present while my husband watched my toddler. When I tried to explain that I had been told that in the past, he spoke to me like I was lying or stupid. Whatâs worse is I later talked with a concierge member in the hotel who told me they do in fact let people do that depending on how busy they are. I went on a Wednesday in January and there was literally no one else by the pool.
I want to leave an even lower rating, but I loved the tech who did my nails and I have enjoyed my experiences here in the past. Unfortunately I left the spa during this last experience feeling like I wonât...
Read moreYou can get better for much less. My aunt and I came in for a spa day. We each got a deep tissue massage and a facial. We loved our facials however both of us HATED our massages. Each of our deep tissue massages with add ons cost over $400. They were NOT deep tissue. In fact the pressure was so light I felt I was being tickled (who wants to be tortured for an hour?) and had to ask the masseuse several times to apply far more pressure. This would always fade back into tickling. I left still riddled with knots and irritated. My aunt had the same issue. My aunt's masseuse didn't spend time working on the requested area (neck) and applied the lightest pressure possible despite, again, paying for deep tissue. Further my massage (we paid for 80min each) was only about 60 minutes long. My masseuse was extremely late getting me despite me being sat in the waiting room which made my appointment shorter. We also didn't get the champagne they promised us.
We also had an extremely difficult time finding any of the attendant staff though, when we were able to find them, we're incredibly sweet.
We spent over 1600 dollars for something overall very mediocre. It wasn't the worst, but given the price point I feel both my aunt and I should have left there feeling fantastic. Instead we left feeling taken advantage of. I would...
Read moreI live in San Diego and was a bit hesitant about visiting the spa, as it's surely popular with tourists, which doesn't always translate to the best experience. I have been proven wildly wrong and can now say this is the best spa I've been to - the spa is clean and beautiful, the staff is professional and courteous, and the services were above and beyond. On my first visit, they mistakenly booked me with someone who had been scheduled for a day off, so they weren't able to accommodate me that day - this was disappointing, but thankfully I live in the area and they were able to get me in on another day AND comped me the service. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the pool with a mimosa and it was still a lovely and relaxing morning. When I returned a week later, the services were impeccable - the seaweed leaf wrap with Carolyn was the best body treatment I've ever had. My skin is buttery smooth, firm, and hydrated. I also opted for a Hydrafacial with Anesia and my skin is still impeccably clean, balanced, smooth, and firm. Thanks to the entire team at The Del spa for the incredible service on all levels. I will be back and highly recommend the...
