I took my 11yo here tonight after his school picture retake, we walked into a very friendly atmosphere that we have never seen before. We loved the walk up and order style where we could take our drink cups and put our number to our table. Since we were new to this restaurant we decided to try a family meal and it did not disappoint! It had SO many options! We also added lettuce wraps which were to die for! As for the service, I am honestly writing this review right outside of the restaurant itself because the service was so impeccable that my son talked about everything from the greeter to the extremely fast service from the gentleman who brought our dinner out to us to the flavors to the kindness of the staff when we needed tops for our dishes to the fact that they even bothered to ask if we wanted a bag for our very large platter since it was just the two of us so we had a ton of leftovers! A staff from the very beginning to the very end that impresses a mere 11yo child so much that he cannot stop raving about them to the point that he felt compelled to go up and say something to them before we left speaks volumes about a restaurant in my opinion. This place is worth every Penny and I suggest everyone eat here based on the staff quality alone. The only thing I can even find to complain about is that when I paid, there wasn’t an option to tip, and I feel guilty because I do not carry cash, but in all honesty…that’s a me problem, not a Pei Wei problem. I very much apologize to the staff for not having cash on me to tip you all with on Friday night!!! Thank you for the wonderful...
Read moreFor our first visit to Pei Wei, we decided to try a mix of their offerings, including wings, Mongolian steak, and Kung Pao chicken. Unfortunately, the experience was less than memorable, leaving us unlikely to return.
Ambiance
The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived, which allowed us to get a good look at the space. While the quiet atmosphere was a plus for a relaxed meal, the overall cleanliness left something to be desired. The table we chose wasn’t clean, and we had to wipe it down ourselves. A tidier dining area would have made a much better first impression.
The Food
We had high hopes for the menu, but the flavors didn’t quite hit the mark. • Mongolian Steak: This dish was the biggest letdown. The steak was overly salty, overpowering any other flavors that might have been there. It was hard to enjoy, and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. • Spicy BBQ Steak: This dish was decent but nothing special. It didn’t stand out compared to similar dishes I’ve had elsewhere, and the flavors were somewhat muted. • Wings: The wings were okay but didn’t leave a lasting impression. They were decent as a starter but lacked the bold flavors I was hoping for.
Final Thoughts
While the food was passable, it didn’t wow us. Considering the combination of a less-than-clean dining space and underwhelming flavors, I feel there are plenty of other restaurants with similar menus that deliver better taste and experience. Unfortunately, Pei Wei fell short of expectations, and I’m not...
Read moreHad Pei Wei for the first time today and will not be back. Food, drink and restrooms were disgusting. My husband went to use the restroom and was mortified by the appearance, he also found articles of clothing laying on the floor. Found a Panda Express wrapper in with the Fortune Cookies, which makes me wonder where they got their food from. My chicken dumplings were soggy. My entrée was spicy, and I ordered a non-spicy entrée. Which could cause health concerns for people who cannot have spicy food. The mandarin green tea orange citrus was regular black tea that had turned bitter and my Husband noticed opened tea bags laying on top of the dispenser. My husband‘s Coca-Cola was flat and tasted like cigarettes. They brought cooked rice out in a plastic bag, and one of the servers kept touching her hair while serving food. One of the servers also dropped two metal forks on the floor in front of a doorway and left them there which could be a safety hazard. While I appreciate her, not touching the dirty dishes, while she was working with what I hope were clean dishes, she should have stopped what she was doing and immediately picked them up. Husband and I both got food poisoning. We were in the food industry for 20 years in various rules, including leadership. Our ServSafes are still active. We now work in the healthcare industry and noticed multiple violations. We were charged a food tax as well as a non-alcoholic, which to me felt like an insult, because we do not...
