The Humble Candle — Local services in Dahlonega

We visited the shop today while in town to prepare for our upcoming wedding. From the get go, the shop attendant had a very unpleasant attitude. Any question asked was immediately met with sarcasm and annoyance. We tried to chalk it up to a case of the Mondays but with each negative, condescending, and rude response to simple questions, it became extremely off putting. If I didn’t really enjoy the smell of the candle we purchased, we would have left based on how we were treated. She asked us a question about a product we were buying which came with a piece of disposable paper. We removed the paper and were holding it on our hands during the transaction when she asked us if we wanted the paper. We said no but also weren’t sure why exactly that mattered to her. She then snatched the paper very rudely and crumpled it up and threw it in the trash as if we were inconveniencing her. At no point did we plan on asking her to dispose of it and we’re going to care for it ourselves later. You would think someone who has worked there for 3 years would have better customer service skills. We’re not sure why she instantly disliked us and was extremely rude to us. It’s a shame because it’s an adorable shop with many unique products and wonderful smelling candles. Although we enjoyed our products we will not be returning due to poor customer service. Love this adorable shop! Friendly customer service and great products. When I got home from our out of town trip to Dahlonega, I dishwashed a mug I purchased there that was immediately damaged from the one wash. I was so sad, but knew the owner probably had no idea it was not dishwasher safe. I called and she was so kind and understanding and immediately said she would refund me (without me even asking!), & send a new one to me if I wanted. She also said she would immediately put up a sign in the store to alert customers to hand wash only. I will definitely do business here again!!
