Adele was interviewed on the Graham Norton Show and mentioned how much she misses her favorite British condiments and snacks, now that she spends most of her time on this side of the pond. Thank goodness for establishments like Crown and Bear that allow ex-pats and anglophiles alike to scratch that particular itch when necessary. I’ve enjoyed visiting British-themed shops for years, and I think this local treasure may just be my favorite. The selection of products is amazing, and my home is becoming fairly well-stocked with high quality items purchased here, including a teapot and cups, a full set of Mason Cash bowls, and numerous packages of delicious snacks (Ok, the snacks are all gone, but I’ll go get more this afternoon). Fiona the proprietress and her daughter Katz are among my favorite local shopkeepers and both are a delight to visit with while shopping here. You may even become so engrossed in one of Fiona’s many hilarious stories that you forget what you were looking for in the first place. But don’t worry, she will help you remember and make your shopping experience thoroughly enchanting at the same time. Stop by next time you’re on the square- you’ll be glad you did and I can almost guarantee this will become a can’t miss destination every time you’re nearby. Maybe you’ll even run into Adele while you’re there.

Not only thoroughly stocked with your favorite crackers, crisps, and sweets, this shop has a great selection of necessary tea ware, engraved slate cheese and serving boards, and a life sized cut out of Paul Hollywood to snap pics with! The proprietor and staff were easily the warmest, friendliest, and sweetest shop keepers we met all day in the many shops in Dahlonega that we visited. And although we missed the much celebrated and hyped Corgi hugs the day we visited, we are planning to return again soon and see if we can rectify that! If are near by to them and want to experience some of the very best bits of Great Britain, be sure to stop in and see the folks at Crown & Bear... you are going to love it!

We travel to Dahlonega just to visit Crown and Bear! Their selection of British gifts and foods is the best! We have found the most unique and adorable gifts and items- especially loving our phone booth bird feeder. We must visit every few months just to get the precious spice flavor of the Marmalade candle!!

I usually don't care going into chotsky style gift shops, but this British themed gift shop store should definitely not be passed up. Also, you can easily overlook it so pay attention and take the long wooden staircase up to the second floor .

They have many British themed gifts as well as a limited selection of fancy seed, British canned and bagged food items. Three people in our party ended up getting some souvenirs to take back home. A very pleasurable and enjoyable experience...
