I really wanted to love these apartments, bc I absolutely love the area.
First off it’s almost February in 2024 and I moved in at the end of July in 2023. And we have not had reliable internet for exactly 6 months now. When I first moved in July it was communicated to me that internet access for our building, Kirby Yards, was wired for spectrum or AT&T (my choice to activate and set up) by the woman who sold us on our apartment, April. Great. I order service through spectrum - get the equipment and the technician comes out for my scheduled installation but upon inspection deems the building inaccessible by their Internet service provider after spending close to $250.00 to activate service. Well, I ended up without any resolution and had to eat the costs. Next, I called the leasing office several times trying to get to the bottom of the issue, spoke with a male customer agent of the leasing office (if I remember correctly at all his name was Duncan or Ryan) at Bishop Ridge on N Lancaster, he takes down my number and says he will inquire about the issue and find an answer to give me shortly. Never calls back or emails me with an update to the issue. Call back 2 days later and another female customer agent has no idea, takes down my message for him to return the call. No reply. So I call ATT to try and get access MYSELF with no help from the leasing office. After checking the availability of internet packages to my address and building location there is NOOO access availability to Kirby Yards according to the headquarters customer service at AT&T. My only option was to purchase a device, $1000 for a nighthawk m6 pro hotspot portable internet router on top of a fee of $99/mo. So now, at this point I’m desperate for internet for my business to run smoothly, I’m forced to fork over the cash for internet during the interim while the building gets sorted out (or so I thought) especially since I run my own business and need reliable Internet access daily. With the nighthawk m6 pro I can only use the devices in that specific room the nighthawk is plugged in and have to move it if I use the bedroom TV or to use my laptop in the bedroom. Mind you, my apt is tiny and only 512 sq feet. The nighthawk device claims to have a range of 1000 sq feet. Arggg. To say this is an inconvenience, would be an HUGE understatement. Still I’m patient and kind with management… waiting for them to to take initiative to make things right. Now it’s almost February 2024, and I’ve reached my tolerance threshold with unreliable internet. I noticed new tenants moving into our new building and several spectrum truck sitings. Awesome, so I check with spectrum to see if the building is still inaccessible and miraculous had changed its access. Yes, they said after checking my address (over the phone) this building is for sure serviceable, they assured me with 3-4 checks personally. Fantastic. So now I order the equipment FOR A SECOND time and register for internet service subscription at $155 bucks, now this go around. The tech for installation gets here and says this building is NOT accessible AGAIN - another few hundred bucks down the tube - bc the office refuses to go digging for the root of this internet issue and never emails me back or calls back like promised over 7 times in the fall months I was living here. So I’m running out of characters for this post but long story short it’s Jan 28th and the art tech says no resident has visible fiber access to ATT internet. Funny, bc the office claims its ready, wired and activated. As a business owner, I would be appalled at 6 residents living this long with absolutely no internet. The office is negligent at this point or severely brain damaged bc of no oxygen, cause this situation is ridiculously out of order. Maybe just maybe I’ll help another out from dealing with such a headache. This company takes no pride in customer care correspondence. Unless, you’re an engineer or internet technician I suggest you sign a lease. Horrible experiences, spent beyond 32 hrs with no AC in 101...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the current living conditions at Bishop Ridge, despite it being marketed as a new construction building. The rent is set at $2,000 per month, yet the quality of living and lack of responsiveness from management do not reflect the cost.
Several maintenance issues within the unit remain unresolved, even after being reported to the leasing office. Unfortunately, no meaningful action has been taken to address these concerns. Additionally, while residents are charged $150 monthly in amenity fees, there is no access to a gym or pool at all.
Another concerning charge is the $40/month “tech pack” fee, which appears to be nothing more than a charge to access one’s own apartment. This is unacceptable and feels exploitative.
The safety of the property is also a growing concern. There have been multiple instances of homeless individuals attempting to gain entry to the buildings and living in cars parked around the property. Furthermore, there is a noticeable lack of security presence, with resident children reportedly throwing rocks at parked vehicles. This creates an unsafe environment for both residents and their property.
To make matters worse, the leasing office is unreachable—the phone line either doesn’t work or no one answers, which further adds to the frustration and lack of support for residents.
Given the amount residents are paying, one would reasonably expect far better living conditions, proper management, and a safe, secure environment. At this point, the value being received does not align with the costs incurred. For the amount being spent here, purchasing a home seems like a far more...
Read moreI live here now and I love my neighborhood but this management company is horrible. I've lived here for the past four years before Bishop Ridge bought my complex. As soon as Bishop Ridge and Indio Management took over it has gone completely horrible. They have falsified documents, failed to maintain the property of thel low income units. They also have spread bedbugs through the neighborhood by knowingling putting infested furniture on the front lawn and sidewalk. When questioned about the bedbugs Imelda Gonzalez the manager lied and said there's no bed bugs even though she was seen and recorded pointing them out to a constable of Dallas county. And resident could literally see bedbugs on the brick walls of the complex. They have targeted me for my unit because I pay 1020 but they have the l floor plan listed for 1350. When they first bought the neighborhood they said the low income families wouldn't have anything to worry about but they are literally pushing us out. I was late on rent and they filed a n eviction when I tried to pay Imelda Gonzalez told me even if I pay and and the eviction was stopped I wasn't going to be able to keep my place because they don't want me here. And she wasn't going to renew my lease because they don't want me here. Those were literally her word. The judge sided with me on the eviction appeal. Now they are filling another eviction against me and I'm fighting again. I truly believe all of it is out of retaliation for me calling the city on them, confronting Imelda about the bedbugs, the falsified documents and the increase they would receive in rent if they took hold of...
