Brunch vibes in Oakcliff! Finally checked out La Comida, Mexican kitchen and cocktails after passing by so many times. Near Colorado Park off of Beckley. Perfect weather and good food the best Saturday morning. #dallaseats #oakcliff #brunchvibes #dfwfoodie #brunchdallas

Man… this place is a hidden gem. Really neat space inside with diner style tables and a large bar. Right off the bat the chips and salsa is the first measuring point for a Mexican spot and theirs do not disappoint. Super crispy chips and the salsa is fantastic. Margaritas are dangerous, they taste fresh and no bite. To eat, we got the pulled chicken chilaquiles and the Yucatán style pulled pork tacos. Elote and charro beans on the side. The chilaquiles was amazing topped off with a little salsa and the pork tacos were tender and super flavorful topped with pickled onions. Service was great as well, could tell the management/staff really care about taking care of customers and keeping a well run shop.

My biggest surprise was that this place was not at all busy on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in Dallas! The service was A1! The food (we only had apps and well the pics are of empty plates “sorry not sorry”) was A1 - flavorful, fresh and just the right amount of everything that was needed to make it delicious. The drinks were delicious (I had a Tropical I believe-Im sure these would sneak up on you). The decor is a perfect setting for all you who are looking for THAT social media pic with THAT background! I really hope we had just missed the big Saturday rush and that this place gets the attention I believe it deserves (Im going back today for brunch before my flight because I want to try more!!!)

Had the worst dining experience of my life here. After having received our checks and handing over our credit cards, 20 minutes went by with no explanation and no credit cards. I went up to the front to find our waiter and was told that he was working on them and it was due to a “system error”. Ok, I can deal with that, but come back to the table and let us know what’s going on.

Another 10 minutes goes by and the second time I went to find him, one of the owners was there and told me (to my face) to “go f* myself” and this he said twice. What?? I asked him why he was behaving this way and he said my friend has been “mean to him”. Seriously? She recognized him from an earlier meal there so she approached him thinking he could help the situation while I went to find our waiter. She wasn’t mean to him, she simply stated that we been waiting for our credit cards for 20 minutes and wondered what the problem was. And even if she had been upset about the situation, she would have had a right to be, but at no time, for any reason, is it alright to use that kind of language with a customer. You boys are in a customer service industry and this type of behavior doesn’t cut it.

The beginning of the experience was great because one of the partners came over and explained how this Mexican restaurant was different from competition. My expectation was that the rest of the experience would follow suit. It did not. I will not be back and I’m writing this review in hopes that the owners will read this so that another patron doesn’t get this kind...

I have had bad service at restaurants before. Bad food, late food, and no food. But this is the worst experience I have ever had out of all them. After placing our "not so complicated" order (we asked if they could replace the taco shells with lettuce), our waitress seemed to disappear. Might I mention we have two 5 year-old twins who had been on a sugar high from Valentine's at school. During this time we noticed a nice couple sit down across from us. 30 minutes after placing our order, and after one bowl of queso that was about as delicious as a jar of tostitos queso (not kidding), our waitress told us our food would be right out. Ten minutes later, the couple's food arrived but ours was no where to be found. Our waitress reminded us our food was "still on the way." 10 minutes later I asked a waiter/manager where our food was. He went back to the kitchen and never came back. I found the manager and he said my food would "be right out." By this time we were over it and I told him we were leaving. He told me "your food took longer than normal because the way you ordered it." Really dude? Swapping the taco shells out for lettuce strips slowed our food down? I informed the manager we were leaving because the service was awful. No apology, no offers to keep us, the customers, happy and satisfied. He just smirked as we walked out. The only reason I even gave one star is because I could not post this review without selecting it. We will never return to that place. Better service...

I just went here again, but for a pick up order. I couldn't get anyone on the phone for call ahead, it just kept saying this mail box was not accepting messages at this time. This is kind of annoying. However, the food was pretty good. I came back for the tortilla soup. Its heaven in every spoon full. I love soup but this is the best I've had, rich, hearty, flavorful, everything you need. The drinks are pretty awesome as well, not watered down at all. My first visit was ok, as the reviews say, the service is slow and they seem very unorganized. I dont really care for the warm salsa. Cost is reasonable for the portions. I honestly cant remeber what I ordered the first time beyond the two bowls of soup. 😜😜 Oh i remember the bisteck steak and it was cold, i had to send that and the elote back to be warmed, of course it was over cooked when they brought it back. Such is life, My advice, get organized, stopping running around like crazy, hire more people if its too much work for the individuals you have and you will...
