Went to Dick's Sporting Goods to purchase a youth baseball bat and socks. Researched website before deciding to go to see which bats available. After arriving at store couldn't find the bats that the website said was available in the store. After searching for someone to assist us, I was informed that the website's "store availability" section is for all their stores and doesn't represent local stores when chosen. Also the site usually takes a couple of days to show actual products available after they are purchased, so the site isn't helpful for in-store purchases. The salesperson wasn't very helpful. He didn't spend anytime with us to see which bat would be better suited for my grandson. He said to go to the front when we were ready and we could order a bat, then he walked away. We picked out the socks he needed, tried on some shorts and when walking back up front, passed by the baseball section and saw the bat we came to purchase on display where it had not been there before. Looked for the salesperson to get the bat for us, but couldn't find him. My grandson was able to finally get it down and we...
Read moreI bought a treadmill today (during the COVID-19 pandemic) and pulled up in a SUV for contactless curbside pickup. Thinking we had measured accurately, I had all the seats laid down and ready for them to load it, knowing it would fit. It did not. It stuck out the back door about six inches. I felt terrible because the two employees had to load it for us to figure that out, and it weighed 250 pounds. I didn’t want them to have to unload it for me to drive to a store to find ropes or tie downs that would work, and while I was trying to come up with a solution that didn’t involve moving it, they, without hesitation, went inside (they were not yet open to the public) and got an unopened package of rope, tied the treadmill in securely (including tying down the door), and refused when I offered to pay for the rope. Absolutely flawless, friendly, and helpful customer service. Thank you, whoever you two are - it was very much...
Read moreI am a year away from 30 and was treated like a child by one of the store clerks in the golf section. My wife had pulled a putter from the display and was looking for one of the balls used for trying them out. I spotted a pack of angry bird golf balls and was surprised to see that they make licensed golf balls. I picked it up to examine it closely and a store clerk walks by and grumbles, "don't open that!" and continued walking. I'm thinking to myself, "well that was rude". I figured people have tried to get the angry bird balls out to use with the putters. Even if that's the case, that still is no way to talk to a customer. So I confronted him about it. He argued with me, saying that he saw me trying to pull it open. Then I asked if I could speak to a manager and he told me no. I went and...
