I’m not one to write negative reviews. I can count on one hand the times I’ve given an establishment less than five stars. I went to the plantation location today to shop with a friend. The back door was open near the fitting rooms so I saw a sign that said that there was a restroom and I went to go use it. The employee Liz with the short blonde hair was extremely rude to me and said you just can’t come in here this is not a public bathroom. The door was open I was not able to see the employee only sign which I explained to her with a calm tone and demeanor. She continued to be rude to me. I obviously left at that point, and didn’t bother to continue shopping because I refuse to be treated like that in a place that’s meant to be inclusive. I would rather shop online than to ever go to this location again, and have someone make me feel the way this woman did. She is not meant to work with customers. When my friend walked to the back after it occurred she didn’t see her and the torrid worker was laughing and insulting me saying how can I not know well someone should tell Liz that ultrasonic vision does not exist and if a door is open it’s extremely difficult to see what the door says. Update: I wanted to add the girl working at the front Neisha was phenomenal, and overheard me talking about the situation and offered to apologize and help me. It’s unfortunate that she has to work around someone so toxic. In the previous reviews, Ashley wrote something similar regarding the same person clearly she has a pattern of being rude to customers. I would ask the manager of this location to review best practices in customer services as it pertains to...
Read moreThis is a great Torrid location. I don't always get personal attention (especially when they are busy), but they always keep the store clean and well-stocked and are very responsive when I indicate that I need help by asking, picking up too many clothes to carry, or walking into the dressing room area. The dressing room area is also very nicely laid out with all the doors facing a central seating area and three-way mirror. This seating area, plus another bench on the shop floor make it very pleasant when I go shopping with others, whether giving them a seat to wait for me or giving me a seat to wait for them... or giving me a seat for when it takes me several hours to try on all the clothes and then needing a place to sit to make decisions about what to actually get. Torrid as a company is great, too. They provide a range of clothes, accessories, and shoes for plus-size women from casual to officewear to geeky and licensed items. In addition to a more trendy style, they primarily service a different body shape than Lane Bryant, Catherine's, Cato, or Dressbarn, one with a smaller chest and larger hip than is & hourglass, box, oval, and inverted triangle body shapes, butre this is the only store that also fits my smaller (but not flat) chest in plus-size. Torrid is owned by the same company as Hot Topic so many of the items are available at both stires, though sĺome are only...
Read moreIt was my first time going to this torrid as I’m used to the torrid in Pembroke Pines, but I figured since I was in the area, I could do a little shopping. So I went in and was greeted, “Hello, welcome.” After 15 mins looking around for a dress for my birthday dinner, not one employee asked if there was anything particular I was looking for, but in the back of my mind, I was thinking, oh, they're busy putting things away. However, another person came in, and an employee was able to help that customer, but I didn’t receive the same treatment. Next issue, I went up to the cashier who had short hair and glasses, and I asked her may I please use the restroom. She said, “I can only let you back there if it’s an emergency because we have boxes back there, but if not, you need to go next door to Office Depot”…I was disappointed in that response, and I thought to myself, isn’t using the restroom is an emergency? Did I have to explain what kind of an emergency I have in detail? That’s just ridiculous to me. She didn’t say it in a friendly tone; I was embarrassed, and that was just the worst service I’ve experienced with a horrible attitude. I will not come back to this...
