For a place that's called "The Friendly Toast" our waitress was not very friendly. I understand how it is tough to work in the wait staff career and how it can get incredibly tiring, I've been a waitress before. However sighing and giving "stinkeyes" to the table you're waiting on isn't a great look. I don't think I've ever felt less welcomed at a restaurant before. The menu is very elaborate and creative which I will say is very fun, however the food was unfortunately the worst breakfast I've ever had. I've been hospitalized dozens of times and have had to eat hospital breakfast and somehow those were better than what I ate today here. I got the "Friendly Toast Benny". Not a single part of that dish was redeemable. The English muffin was burnt. Genuinely black and burnt. Like charcoal. The smoked ham tasted like it was smoked in a dishwasher. The poached egg was somehow hard? I will cut them a bit of slack when it comes to the hollandaise sauce because I'm aware how hard it is to make a good hollandaise sauce, but I will be honest, you should be hiring chefs who know how to make one. Everything was incredibly bland and/or tasted like it was made in a dishwasher. The home fries were also burnt. One of them was so hard it felt like it cracked my tooth when I bit down. I genuinely thought I accidentally bit my fork instead of the potato. I gave the service a 2 stars instead of a 1 because the wait wasn't long and the food did come out quicker than I expected. The atmosphere was equally as awful as the food. Whoever designed the layout of the restaurant needs to take interior designing classes. All of the tables are too close together which makes the restaurant incredibly stuffy. Speaking of stuffy, I don't know if maybe the AC wasn't functioning today but it was so humid and sticky in this restaurant. My clothes were sticking to my skin and my hair was stuck to my face. The floor was extremely slippery which is a hazard for customers and wait staff. The chairs were sliding around like they were slathered in butter. There's a lot of tables in this restaurant which means they can have more customers but that's not a good thing. It's not the restaurants fault how loud everyone was being at their tables, but blasting music over the speakers definitely didn't make it any better.
In conclusion, you're much better off going to a mom and pop owned...
Read moreThe customer service in this establish is deplorable. Checked in around 10:30AM for a table (specifically requested a table as an accommodation instead of a booth, or high top). Was informed it would be 1hour to 1:15hr wait. Returned to the establishment at 11:45 to check the status as the app said there would be a delay. The hostess said it would be another 10-15 minute wait. I confirmed the accommodation request and the hostess stated it was not noted (despite specifically requesting it when being added to the wait list), but she would add it. We were notified around 12:10 our table was ready (of note, pre paid for a 12:55 movie thatâs 2 minutes from the restaurant). The hostess proceeded to escort us to a high top bar, then realized her mistake. We hung back, then weâre informed by a manager itâs going to be a little longer (no definitive time), but we would get the next table in 10-20 minutes. We informed the manager of our 12:55 movie and being seated at 12:30 wouldnât work as our food wouldnât come out in time. The manager says âsorry, I donât have a watch and donât know what time it isâ. I looked at my watch and said, itâs 12:15PM and weâve been waiting since 10:30AM. The manager doesnât try to problem solve, offer any good faith gratuities for future patronage, or act with any intent to treat us like a valued customer. This level of customer disservice is truly appalling. If youâre an individual who needs accommodation for seating, Iâd strongly advise picking a different restaurant. Unfortunately, this establishment is not inclusive and blatantly treats their customers...
Read moreI used to loooove friendly toast but hadn't been in about a year. the experience was absolutely terrible. the food wasnât good, the menu has drastically gotten smaller and my favorite item (snap, crackle, cluck) is now gone and replaced for a boring classic chicken sandwich. I got the classic chicken sandwich in the hopes that they just changed the name but the butter on the bun tasted rancid and the sandwich was just boring/bad to begin with. I didnât even like my fries. They were stale. The only thing i liked on that plate was my pickle sphere. My friend got the friendly toast benny and got half the amount of breakfast potatoes on the side that they normally wouldâve put in the past. The ketchup on our table was basically empty and tasted weird. I didnât like the maple lemon spritz And it was $10. My friend ordered a side of pickled onions and it was rancid! Our server tried it and said something was off. Then he said he brought it to the kitchen, they tried it, and spat it out. Thatâs disgusting. they thankfully took that item off the bill.
I looked up if they sold their company but apparently they hadnât. this experience was terrible and I donât think Iâll be going back. The bill was also extremely expensive⊠$75 for 2 people at a brunch place!!! It was especially expensive for the quality and quantity of the food.
Only good experience was our server. He was funny and...
