Update on the Monday following my Saturday service management did call me to follow up on my experience. The manager did acknowledge that it sounds like this was a one-off and that typically most of their clients are very happy. She acknowledged that my experience was not a good one and that it sounds like they missed the mark that day. I do not doubt that most of their clients are happy, as most of the reviews are great. With that being said, no place is perfect and in those imperfect moments I look for a business to take care of their clients (especially a first time client). I was initially only offered a 10% discount to come back and see a different therapist. I explained that 10% is a slap in the face and nowhere near the standard of other places that are also not chain establishments. She called and spoke with the owner who then offered an additional add-on (so approximately $10-15 dollars) in addition to the 10%. This is unacceptable on a 90-minute massage. I would urge you to go elsewhere because there are plenty of small massage/spa businesses that will take care of you in the event something goes wrong.**

I was very excited to treat myself to a massage for my birthday. I specifically selected a 90 minute massage because I know from experience that my chief areas of complaint (my occipitals and my jaw) take time to work through and generally anything less than 90 minutes isn’t enough time. When the therapist Wendy told me that my massage was over, I was actually shocked because at no point during the massage were my occipital muscles or my jaw muscles touched on. I expressed that this was my main area of concern on the form they had me complete upon my arrival and confirmed it verbally with the therapist before the massage. Prior to the massage she asked if it was ok for her to massage my face and jaw and I said yes. Unfortunately, none of that was done. I think it boiled down to poor time planning by focusing more on other areas that I didn’t necessarily express concerns with and then running out of time at the end. At the end I didn’t get water which I thought was really odd.

To be fair, the areas she did get to were good and she was very nice. They accommodated my request to do a scalp treatment which was nice of them. The essential oil blend you pick out and get to take home was nice. Overall though, I’m very disappointed because I was looking forward to relief of my neck and jaw pain and I didn’t get that. I found my massage to be mediocre. The therapist was nice but very fast and rigid I asked for deep tissue which she definitely went deep with lack of finesse it felt very generic and not very in touch with my body. There was a lot of pinching at my traps and digging in instead of good technique. If I could give any constructive feedback it would be to slow down give the muscles a chance to relax react and respond and not be so forceful. Also probably a good review of anatomy to fine tune what you are feeling for and target specifics of the muscles.The therapist wasn’t very mindful of the injury that I explained in my lower back it was a bit agressive for that area. Once I was flipped over face up. I expressed for the rest to be gentler and there really wasn’t that much change.The warm stones are definitely a good addition to the massage but the use of firm pressure with them can be quite uncomfortable over bony landmarks. We booked a couples massage with essential Oils and it was great. The front desk administrator was kind, and we got to select our own blend for the massage which was awesome. They also give you the option to switch out a certain essential Oil to your liking for the blend. The two women who gave our massages were very communicative in the beginning to understand our trouble area and what we were looking for! They checked in with us about the pressure and really set the atmosphere with the music, lights, and the salt rock. Then they used these amazing hot stones to help get out any knots or tight spots!!!! It was soooo good. Afterwards they didn’t rush us to get up, but brought us water and made sure everything was ok. They even let us know what spots they had to really get into more because of tightness so we can be in the lookout for that in the future! Couldn’t have been more pleased! Money well spent! Will...
