The Create Space DeLand — Attraction in DeLand

I purchased a painting for my daughter as a special birthday gift this year, and it holds a deeper significance beyond just art. A year prior, my sweet baby lost her own precious child at just 20 weeks—a grief so profound we still feel it deeply. Something about that beautiful painting called to me; her eyes mirrored the same captivating color as my daughter's, and her angelic expression seemed to embody innocence and love. Yet, it felt incomplete—missing her name, a small but meaningful connection. I reached out to the Create Space in Deland, sharing my wish to add her daughter's name at the bottom of the canvas—to give my daughter a tangible, heartfelt remembrance of her little girl. The owner kindly agreed, and together we personalized the painting, inscribing Harlow's name, turning it into a precious keepsake. My daughter's grief remains raw, but in that moment, amid love and compassion, I felt Harlow's presence shining through those eyes. When it came time to pay, the owner of the Create Space insisted there was no cost—her kindness and generosity touched me deeply. such a great place to let the creative juices flow! the shop may look small on the outside but there’s lots of space inside with chairs, tables, and every art supply you could think of. there’s a variety of arts & crafts options depending on your interests and/or skill level. i opted for the round wooden board to make a sign for a friend’s reading space. i was able to get a stencil of exactly what i wanted, in the font i wanted, and with the stack of books. i also got it drilled and wired so it could be hung. this place is really great for groups and parties since there’s lots of space and so many options for what to do together. it’s also very conveniently located on the edge of Downtown DeLand with...

What a fun space! Came by to check it out and ended up staying a couple hours. There were fun sensory play options for my 3yo like kinetic sand and water beads. She had a great time painting as well.
