The room is beautiful and feels like a European apt. My only two complaints which do make this a deal breaker for staying here again is 1) the plugged in Glade PlugIn in BOTH rooms was SOOOOOOO STRONG that I couldn’t breathe well. Like headache inducing chemical smell of fresh sheets of whatever the heck it was. It was horrible and staff apparently leaves after a certain time on Sunday when I arrived after 9pm so too late to ask for a change of a room ( my bad… maybe not alll rooms smell like the Glade Plug Ins?) Anyway, the living room area smelled like harsh chemical plug in and the bedroom was soooo much worse. OMG and I am NOT a complainer type of person… honest to goodness I am not. Can’t open the windows, they’re painting shut and no way to really ventilate, but I did unplug those God awful plug ins. Does it really smell so bad with a normal cleaning we have to suffocate people with the chemicals? For that reason alone never again will I stay there. Second night it was much better bc plug ins stayed unplugged so air was breathable. |Second issue was maybe minor but the bed mattress was very soft with lumps and every morning I woke up with a very sore back. I’m healthy and usually no back problems. |Finally, I was on the 3rd floor so music wasn’t a bother but even on a Sunday night at 9:30pm that Latin music was blasting and I think it was just clean up time for staff but thank goodness I wasn’t on the first floor. It was loud like someone else has already mentioned. |Location is great. Staff is nice enough. Hotel is so beautiful. No microwave but you do get good coffee Starbucks pods and a fridge with a tiny freezer so that was very nice. But those darn Glade plug ins were atrocities, bad bed and loud music isn’t exactly a wonderful $125 a night...
Read moreWe stayed at the Artisan for DeLandApalooZa in April 2019, and found the accommodations pleasant. Everything was perfectly clean and attractive. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was effective and whisper quite. Although this was an excellent start, all was not perfect. The modern décor of hard surfaces made the hallways an echo chamber, all-too audible in the rooms. And there was not a single piece of exercise equipment of any kind. But the kicker was their complete lack of marketing sense, on how to treat a customer who just paid them $190 for a one night stay. I left my hat there, and instead of locking in a satisfied customer and graciously returning it for free, they told me they would have to charge me to ship it back to me. Not being an expensive hat I requested the cheapest return method possible, and indeed they shipped it at a cost to them of $7.35…. and then charged me $15!! Now that few dollars will make no actual difference in my life, but I will NEVER stay there again and I recommend that you do not either. This small town place was not busy and not far from the post office; did they really have to make a profit on my error and make me feel even worse about my mistake? Research shows that the highest customer satisfaction comes from how an organization handles issues, rather than from ordinary daily practices. Well this place needs...
Read moreWhat a pleasant experience! This quaint boutique hotel was perfect for our mid-week, one night, short stay. It was clean and tastefully decorated for the holidays. We were distressed that we couldn’t stay longer! We were on the 2nd floor and had a standard room with 2 comfortable queen beds, chocolates on the pillows and bottled water and snacks in the room. All of these little attentions to detail, were not missed and definitely appreciated. Unfortunately, the view was of a new apartment building under construction right next door. Literally, within arms reach. Shame on you, the committee that approved this. But the lack of view would not deter us from returning. There is a bar/lounge downstairs and we were fortunate enough to be there for open mic night where locals come to entertain. What a nice surprise! We were told they have karaoke night and music on the weekends. Please check hotel for details. There is also a restaurant downstairs, Chicas Cuban Cafe but our schedule did not allow us to fit in a meal there. I can tell you whatever they were preparing for breakfast smelled awesome! We had the best breakfast at Doug & Lil’s Potato Patch, a great lunch at BakeChop and delicious dinner at The Table. Deland is a historic town, beautifully decorated for the holidays with plenty of things to do, in town and surrounding areas, over a long weekend. We are looking forward...
