I come here pretty often because I live local- Iâve never had a problem with other people who worked here but the lady working today (older lady with grey hair and eyeliner) was straight up nasty. Me and my friend are teenage girls and we wanted to try on cute tops- innocent enough. We went to the same room then she said âOne person per roomâ which was fair enough so we went to individual rooms- but then she came over to us and went âwait what do you guys have with you?â Not in an innocent tone but it felt very much like she was under the impression of us stealing? And we told her and showed her then to she moved on. Then we bought our two tops for $40 and went back to the fitting rooms to wear our cute new tops then she got angry and said âwhat are you girls doing?!?â As if we were about to steal after we dropped all most $50. Actually crazy. Never have been treated with such hostility from the moment Iâve walked in a store, especially an indie store. Peace and love? Not here...
Read moreUpdate: still a Super cute store with interesting finds. BUT Definitely overly pricey, almost everything was unique-ish but not sure the owner understood the cultures of the items being sold. The prayer rugs are being sold as 'turkish rugs' and the price was 3x what it actually is, Its insulting to the culture, also some items were similar to those on temu/shein. Not kid friendly. We enjoyed the decor, tapestries, clothes, pillow covers and trinkets from Different cultures but it felt like more of a place to stop and look at than somewhere to buy from. I brought friends here for the last time, owner came off as racist to my friends of other cultures but totally quiet around my Caucasian friends. Either way it's rude to not greet your customers and make them feel like they're not 'worthy' of shopping in the store. Too much political/opinionated talk and very much lacking professionalism...
Read moreI went into Orchid Rain and I love the store!! It is so unique. It is so worth the visit!!!! There is even a psychedelic painted Volkswagen in there, and it has daisies around the headlights. On top of the Volkswagen there is a skeleton dressed in Hippie clothes with sunglasses on. There is a tree in the store. A big one. Not one in a pot. They have Jewelry, Hippie Clothes, Incense, musical instruments, Singing Bowls, mushrooms hats, tapestries, and so much more! The store is not just for hippies! There are things in there from all over the world. Itâs like being whisked away to go in and look around!! Go in and enjoy the experience. Iâm sure you will enjoy the experience...
