I’ve eaten here 3 times and for the most part this is a great place. Service is good, great location, great burgers and fries, and a large selection of draft beers… but I have to take off some stars for 4 reasons. Firstly, what they call “Nashville Hot Chicken” is absolutely NOT Nashville Hot Chicken. It’s not even the right color. I lived in Nashville for 3 years and I’d go as far to say that it’s false advertising to call it NHC because it is typically a dry rub, not a sauce, and should predominate with cayenne pepper powder, not chili powder. This tasted like a beautifully cooked Mexican chicken chili sandwhich. It was good but not an accurate representation of the dish. They should send a few cooks up to Nashville to try all the best spots and get their recipe dialed in. Secondly, their Buffalo Chicken sandwich while being beautifully cooked, has a repulsive sauce. My wife is from Buffalo and we go every year. THE Buffalo sauce is Frank’s Red Hot and Butter. All the famous wing joints have their own signature sauce now, but they all have their roots in Franks. The sauce at Half Wall is hot, but not good. It was actually hard to eat it and I do not recommend it at all. 3rd issue, I asked the server about draft IPA’s and she showed me a laminated rolodex sort of thing on the table. I made my selection and later learned there were more options on the menu. In fact, Half Wall’s own signature IPA was not even listed on the rolodex. This seems like a pretty big oversight on behalf of management. 4th issue: I asked for a sample of Half Wall’s IPA Stugle Flugel and she brought a tiny shot glass of nearly completely flat, watered down-tasting stuff. There is no way that was how their IPA is supposed to taste. Maybe the keg needed to be changed idk, but it was a really bad first impression of their beer. I’d like to try it again the way it is intended. I am probably coming across harsh and I apologize for that. It is a really good establishment but I think they could dial these small things in and take it up a notch.

Was really looking forward to making this my new spot for good food! I ordered a Togo order last night, I had the Fish & Chips and Jumbo Buffalo Wings. The Fish and Chips was horrible, I tried my best to eat it but it was heavy battered and terribly burnt!!! The wings were super dried out and skins were so tough I couldn’t chew it I had to pull it off to get to the meat only to find out how dry it was. Terrible experience and a waste of almost $30, not good for me. If I ever return I guess I would have to dine in because I see other pictures in the reviews of the Fish and Chips and it looks perfectly cooked. I’ve been in the Food industry for 15 years and I would have never served such a plate first off based on this presentation let alone well over cooked food! Otherwise the atmosphere is Lit, Live and Vibrant! Update: my Husband and I dined in here 3/15 on a Monday night. I order the fish and chips again because I knew I would get a better serving of it this time. I also showed the waitress which was very nice and I hate that I’ve forgotten her name, these photos of my last visit. She then advised the manager to come over which she couldn’t believe her eyes and that the cook should have never served such a thing. She did replace the order so I didn’t have to pay this time. She didn’t replace the wings which I believe it was an order that had sat there and because I order the same thing they had just put them in a box because it was a take out order. But overall the dine in experience was very nice and we had wings as an appetizer and they were Bomb, nothing like the ones I’d ordered before. I will definitely visit again and the music obviously isn’t loud during the week which made it a better experience that we could hear ourselves.

Average size bar and grill in the heart of downtown deland. Parking can be difficult, as it is all parallel parking. Service was a 10 out of 10. Everyone was friendly, service was so quick we were in and out in no time. Restaurant was fairly clean. Bathrooms smelled and could be touched up better. There were Tvs about every 5 ft on the walls. The decor and style is is classic english/American style pub. The spacing between tables was a little tight but not terrible. We ordered an appetizer and two main dishes. 10 Wings: 5 Nashville hot and 5 hot honey. The Nashville hot flavor was kind of bland with a lot of pepper. The hot honey was a little bland too. Fish and chips: this was excellent. The fish was soft flaky, and fresh. The waiter mentioned the batter is made in house. Apparently this is one of the most popular dishes there. Bacon cheese burger with gouda cheese medium rare: the burger is real meat, not frozen, half pound and huge. The burger came out more in the medium well side, but it was still great nonetheless. It came laid out in the classic split bun style with the hot patty on one bun and cold toppings on the other bun separated with no condiments. Mustard and ketchup were provided at the table. The side items were fries: The fries are not fresh cut fries, but are good nonetheless. The season on them were tasty and they are a bigger cut style fries with a crispy outer finish and soft and fluffy inside. Overall, I, would say this is a great casual eatery with some excellent fresh main dish options.

I’m so sad to have to be coming on here because my post if you can see below is what I originally wrote and I had gone back yesterday and I called while I was sitting out in the parking and I ordered a pick up. They said about 10 to 15 minute wait I went in around 20 minutes After the order was placed I got in there was directed to go to the bar went to the bar the lady that was working behind The bar did not come to me for about 3/4 minutes and she was just standing there. She wasn’t working or doing anything. I told her my name she went to go check to see if my food was at the other end of the bar. She looked at one package. It was not my food and I had seen right after a bag behind a gentleman who was sitting at the bar right next to the bag that she had seen and I’m watching that bag, but I’m assuming it’s not mine because this lady already checked so I wait there for 20 more minutes. Finally the manager who was in and out walked by and just happened to look at it and said are you waiting for Nicole and the girl said Yep so she brought me my food and as soon as she brought it to me cause I’m shaking my head yep, that’s mine. I knew It. I tell her I am gonna want my fries remade because they’ve been sitting there for at least 20 minutes and she’s like what no that just got there so she argued with me a little bit, but I wasn’t about to do all that and proceeded to go to the kitchen and Have them make new fries so I ate the fries while I was there because while I was there, I had to wait another 15 minutes because I had ordered chicken tenders and fries and I added a side of chicken when I had gotten my chicken there was like a couple small tiny pieces like they weren’t chicken tenders and I showed the bartender and I was like hey what is this cause they charge me nine dollars for a side of chicken Tenders she’s like I don’t know what is that and I was like well. I ordered a side of chicken tenders I was like is this what that is supposed to be and she’s like oh yeah no there’s something wrong with that so she brought it back and they were making me new ones so the French fries that they brought out I ate it while I was there I proceed to talk to the manager, who said I’m sorry we have a new chef Yada yada yada. I was very understanding. I said I love this place. It’s fine whatever move on so I leave I go home to feed me and my kids. The chicken was disgusting. It was awful. I was not expecting that it was overly salted and very small and the one thing that I wanted and I asked for was a side of their hottest sauce, so I could dip my chicken in it and Thought that was what was in the container inside the box. It was not it was like a barbecue sauce so when I got home, not only was the chicken super salted but now I couldn’t eat I didn’t have anything to dip it with. I just moved here an then what I ordered for my daughter was a steak and cheese sub their steak and cheese she’s gotten before twice now and they were good at first. This one was overly salted And again it had been sitting there for an extra 20/30 minutes so I was not really happy the manager seemed very nice and understanding after a whileThe bartender seemed to like not be annoyed with me and she was really nice after that so it kind of stinks cause I really liked it here But I just wasted 45 bucks cause I couldn’t eat it !!

I have been in Florida for almost 3 and a half years and this is finally my favorite spot to go! We just moved here a few weeks back and needed some food an this spot we tried first and have gone back four times since! That means a lot for our family! Keep it up yall! The service isn’t awful but most of them don’t seem friendly or engaging but the food...

Went there for our daughter's 40th birthday dinner tonight around 5:45pm Started off great it wasn't busy so we got a table right away. Maybe 12 people in the entire place even some faces we knew. We ordered a couple of pineapple hulas then the daughter and grandkids came in and the commenced to ordering food and drinks. At 6:45 we hadn't got any refilled drinks or our food. So I went to the bar and I quote bartender ask may I help you, I said yes may I get another drink we don't seem to have a server. She said where are you sitting I pointed to the table where all the family was sitting, she the proceeded to say I will get your server. I then asked can you at least give me a drink. She proceeded to leave the bar and headed to the back of the restaurant. So I went back to our table still without a drink. Then about 5 minutes later our lost server showed up. I told him if we cant get food our drinks to just cancel our order. He walked away saying he could cancel our order. Then the 23 year old manager walked up with our food. He rushed it off the serving platter and rushed back to the kitchen. All of our food was cold frys were hard and dried put from sitting. So I asked a different server if he could ask the manager to come see us and no manager came over. I proceeded to ask another server to please ask the manager to come to out table. Finally the manager came over and I tried to explain the situation and ask if I could have a drink and he said no the bartender has cut you off. I asked why and he said that I was rude to the entire bar. I asked how was I rude I just asked for a drink. He could not explain his or her reasoning for cutting me off at just one drink. We have had many family outings at Half Wall. But after tonight's adventure in an almost empty restaurant we will never go back. I will be filling a report with the health department for them serving cold food especially seafood. Going to miss going there because we were always treated well and had great service. But tonight's encounter was just the most disrespectful situation I've ever had in my life from staff...
