BerryVille DeLand — Restaurant in DeLand

Let me first say that the ice cream, Gelato, and froyo that we had ordered was fantastic. This review is not a reflection of their main product. Where this review gets dicey is when I ordered a Boba tea. Ordered a coffee Boba tea and after the first couple of sips we could tell that either the Boba or milk used was sour or spoiled. Of course I doubted it because I just thought the ice cream overpowered the Boba flavor and I just needed to wait until I could actually give the Boba a fair shot. No such luck. I approached the front desk with the Boba tea (minus two sips) to let them know that they should check their stock so that they don't continue to serve something that could potentially be bad. The response I got was "Sorry that happened to you. I am sorry about that." That was it. No going to double check product, no willingness to replace it, or a refund. The workers were not wearing their masks as they handled people’s drinks and ice cream which during this time is very unprofessional and disgusting at the very least. i didn’t see them wash their hands once as they prepared our order while also checking us out at the register and the place didn’t feel very welcoming to me and my partner at all as a lgbt couple. would not recommend. Replying to your reply: We were at the correct place and had a few reasons as to why we felt uncomfortable there, I understand if this wasn't a normal experience but still wanted to voice our experience here so that it can be improved in the future to make sure workers are wearing masks when preparing food and making all communities feel welcome. I came here a second time and had a bit better experience but had a problem with another group of customers being super homophobic towards me and my girlfriend bc we were holding hands, they said some nasty things to us that just ruined the experience which wasn’t the shops fault but just sucked to have to deal with when we just wanted...

This place is a BLESSING!! I have a a serious food allergy...and they take every precaution to make sure I am safe! Not only does this place have the most delicious, decadent frozen desserts, etc, it also has some of the healthiest food in town! Between all of their different kind of healthy bowls and smoothies, this is a great place to go pre or post workout ... Or even if you never work out.. lol The best part about Berryville Cafe is the staff that works there!! This place is owner operated with the home town feel that should be expected on Main Street in DeLand. The owner, and all of her employees are so refreshingly professional, sincere, knowledgeable, genuine...and make every customer feel so welcome!!!
