I entered working with Diamond Reserve (DR) excited to have found a quality local custom jeweler that is female owned. The person we met with was caring & confident they could help me create a new engagement ring. I didn't have an exact design in mind, so knew I needed help in that area. The only thing I knew was that I wanted a halo in some form that sat flush to the center stone. I was promised that this was all achievable. Unfortunately, this turned out to be false & took 6 month of back and forth before i got a clear enough answer to actually cut my loses & walk away. During this time, Erin was always friendly but never actually took initiative in helping to create any designs; the promise of which was a large reason we chose DR to begin with. Each round went as follows: I would scour the internet to come up with a new idea & present it to Erin -- I would be told this was great and should totally work -- Wait a week or so for a new rendering (several of which had mistakes that I was the only one to notice) -- In looking at the rendering it would still show a gap between the center stone & the halo -- given some reason why this was & then have to start all over. As my concern grew & my design ideas kept being simplified to achieve my goal, Erin had me come in to look at a wax mold and some example rings (see photos 1 & 2). All of these continued to show a gap & Erin began telling me this was as close as it could be and that all rings have this gap. She told me to trust that the benchman would get it "as close as possible." This just didn't sit right, so I reached out to custom jewelers I follow on IG, including showing them photos I had taken at DR. I was reassured by at least 6 jewelers that their rings have no gap at all & that what I was being told was the limit to flush just wasn't true. I shared this information with Erin, who remained steadfast that she was right & that what these others were telling me made no sense. I finally decided to listen to my gut & switch to a new jeweler who made my ring with a completely flush halo (photos 3&4).

Unfortunately I still had to purchase my diamond through RC because they refused to return my deposit despite the fact that they couldn't deliver on the ring they promised. Do yourself a favor & don't give them as many chances to get it right as I did. There are plenty of great female owned custom jewelers out there.

Pros: -nice people -lab grown diamonds at a fair price -good choice if looking for a solitaire design

Cons: -have to put 50% down before you ever actually see a design -not ring designers -- i had to bring ideas for them to work from -turn around time for renderings can be over a week & often include mistakes that require additional time for correcting -lack of attention to detail shown in rendering mistakes & other experiences -rendering software isn't the best in terms of realism -try to sell you on a false idea of what it means for a halo to be flush -inflexible in refunding money if they can't do what you've asked for & they've promised they can deliver -showed up to appt to pick up another piece of jewelry i know longer wanted them to work on & they didn't have it ready even though meeting had been rescheduled already giving them more time.

Since I was a kid, I have wanted to design the ring that my wife would wear. When the time came to propose to my now fiancé, I thought that dream was not going to be an option because the jewelry stores I went to, some of which claimed custom designs, really did not offer that. But The Diamond Reserve was different and made that hope a reality! I noticed a difference when I walked in. It is a smaller office and I thought I would be looking at cases of rings. But unlike other stores, there is not a bunch of jewelry out. They operate with a “pull” method of design and creation where each order is put in after you know you want it, rather than the “push” method of many jewelry stores. They operate by talking through the style and features you would like and showing you pictures of designs to get a better feel of what you want. This makes it feel like a uniquely personal and catered to experience. I went in with a pretty strong design and some drawings with dimensions on it, and they completely ran with it and had it in 3D CAD design (which was probably the only hard part: it took a few iterations where I corrected some things; it’s hard to communicate changes via email, but they worked with me until the design was just right). The turnaround time after the design was complete was faster than they had estimated, and the ring turned out exactly as I had envisioned. Their bench-man is incredible and the whole experience was awesome. My fiancé loves the ring and also loves getting to tell everyone that I designed it. We are now working on getting her wedding band from The Diamond Reserve as well and it is fun to go through a similar experience with her. I highly recommend The Diamond Reserve for anyone wanting that “special touch” in the design and creation of your own ring, or the ring for your soon...

I recently visited The Diamond Reserve in Austin, located right across from the Alamo Drafthouse Theater, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an unmatched level of professionalism and kindness.

The entire team is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to guide you through their collection without ever making you feel rushed or overwhelmed. Their genuine passion for diamonds and helping clients find the perfect piece is evident in every interaction. Whether you’re a seasoned jewelry collector or someone stepping into the world of fine diamonds for the first time, they make the process seamless and enjoyable.

The selection is stunning — from timeless classics to unique modern designs. Every piece sparkled with unmatched quality, and I appreciated how transparent they were about the sourcing and craftsmanship.

What truly sets The Diamond Reserve apart is their exceptional customer service. They treat every visitor like a VIP, offering thoughtful advice tailored to your needs and preferences. It’s rare to find a business where every team member goes above and beyond to make you feel valued, but this is exactly what you’ll find here.

If you’re in Austin and looking for a special piece of jewelry or just want to be wowed by impeccable service and stunning diamonds, make The Diamond Reserve your destination. I can’t wait to return for...
