$5 Beach Store — Local services in Destin

Looked to me like decent prices when I walked in. I said to both my older girls “pick out a couple shirts at these prices”. However, as soon as I walked over to the toy/souvenir section with my 3 year old the lady behind the counter counting her change in the register rudely said, “The toys and souvenirs are to be only touched or played with if you intend to buy” huh? How do I know I/we want it without touching it and seeing what it does?! I guess us checking out the different stuff really bothered her. We were touching & squeezing different noisemakers, they were neat and I would have bought her one of her choice...I guess we were expected to buy one of everything...hahaha! Checked online to see what time they closed it said 10pm got there at 9:40 and lady was standing by the door and it was locked and guy working walked to door to let her out and I ask him could we come in and he told us no he was closing I said we still have 20 minutes and he told me no he still had to count his draw so he could leave at 10. As someone who works in retail we close at the time that it says we close then do our side work and count our register down. He was very rude. Next day went in and 3 people where there working and no one spoke to us as we came in or the whole time we was looking. And I don't know why the store says 5 dollar store I never found anything for 5 dollars everything was way over 5 dollars. I will never go...

They definitely have to change the name because I don’t know what’s $5 here lol. However, we come here all of the time, they t shirts that are on clearance buy 4 get 2 free. The shirt on clearance can go from what I’ve seen … anywhere between 9.99 to 16.99.l each. They do have a great jewelry section ! Beach toys, plenty of bathing suits , boogie boards , you name it ! Very clean and organized . Although it’s not as spacious as its competitors, I do like not feeling suffocated with merchandise within an inch of every part of my body ! I did learn they have hermit crabsss for sale unfortunately I did not see the signs about touching them until after I peeked...
