I was having problems with the screen going black on my monitor for my desktop computer. I had dealt with The Geek Squad before in Washington State and had a great experience with them. I tried to call their phone number for advice after finding one on the internet. Nothing would connect. That ment, a 25 minute travel to their store in Destin, Fl after making an appointment, on line, using my wife's computer. I was told that my RAM or another component probably was bad, and the system needed to be tested. But, I needed to pay $185, plus tax for a membership. I paid the membership. Was given a date (two days out) where they would call me to let me know what the problem was. I waited until that night before I called the number on the business card that I was given for updates on my machine. Right before they closed, I got a call saying they found the RAM to be bad and had updated the BIOS other files. But they needed to run the graphics card to test it, and it would be ready for pickup the next day. Three more days when by. I called every day on their automated system, and the same message played over and over. Your device has not been assigned to a technician. I left messages to be called back, but to no avail. After 6 days, I drove to Destin, Fl to The Geek Squad to personally get some answers. I was told, again, the RAM was bad, but the Graphics card was ok. I inquired as to why no one was calling me back, giving me updates, and was told that all messages go b to a central message bank that is accessed once a day. They said to come back in the am to pick up the computer. Which I did. Got the system back and half of the other things I wanted done weren't completed. Case cleaning and cable management, but the RAM had been changed out. I contacted L33T Computing Solutions in DeFuniak Springs, FL, and he took the system in to finish the rest of the work.. The first thing he found is the RAM installed by The Geek Squad was not connected properly. He tested the old RAM and found there was nothing wrong with it. He reinstalled the old RAM and bench tested everything. Proved that the Geek Squad can't be trusted anymore. Thank you L33T...
Read moreHorrible staff. They tried to force us to pay for the repair of a charger when we paid for the warranty. They talked crap about what a bad manager they had that wouldn't allow them breaks, lunch or dinner but the manager got to go to dinner for an hour. Right in front of my young child upsetting everyone. The staff was mainly rude as can be. The young man started helping me. He said it needed a charger. The rude woman took over she didnt even know where she was going had us follow her all over the store to try to force us to pay for charger for warrantied laptop. She was beyond rude and insulting. If you want and upset child just have an encounter with the people we did and your child can cry in the car just like mine did. Now they harass us by emailing us in the middle of the night after being asked to never contact us again. They won't return the money as agreed I only got some of it back from them and best buy. I will never step foot in that store again. I will got to a different store from now on. THIS STORE COMPLETELY UPSET A CHILD AND DIDNT EVEN APOLOGIZE TO THE CHILD IN THE SLIGHTEST! HOW CAN YOU SAY AND DO SUCH THINGS IN FRONT OF A YOUNG CHILD FOR SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY AND STOP CONTACTING US. WE WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR COMPANY AFTER YOU MADE OUR CHILD CRY ON THE WAY HOME AFTER REFUSING TO HELP HER FIX HER COMPUTER EVEN KNOW YOU WERE PAID TO. Read moreIf I could rate this place any lower than 1 star I would. I brought my iPhone 12 Pro Max in because it had an issue with the display. The display needed replaced and it was covered under apples warranty. They told me it would be 1-2 hours till it was fixed so I waited there and just looked around while I waited. I went back up to the desk a while later to check on the status and they said we had to reset your whole phone. I said okay? Then they said okay good because we already did it. No one asked me before resetting my entire phone so I almost lost 10 years of photos and videos on my phone because I was completely locked out of my iCloud account. I contacted apple and there was nothing they could do. After that they told me that they would have to keep my phone for a few days and then offered me a FLIP PHONE and to BUY the service for it!!!! That’s because they couldn’t give me any other loaner. The manager realized “the extent” of the situation and finally agreed to send me home with an iPhone as a loaner at no charge. When I arrived home I was able to get access to my account because I luckily had a screenshot of my recovery key on my Apple TV.
