Not a cracker barrel my family and I would return to ever again. Started from the beginning as host said she would be right back and had to change printer paper out. Had 4 waitresses over 8 minutes come by and tell us the same thing. Then after we were sat down it took a while to get a waitress. We ordered our three meals, got coffee and expected everything else to be ok. Waitress brings us two cups of coffee and a large ice coffee for our adult daughter. Waitress brings out our biscuit part of the meal early (grandpa's country fried breakfast comes with 2 biscuits and gravy). We all three ordered the same meal. So should have had 6 biscuits and the gravy. Only got 4 biscuits and no gravy. Next time we saw waitress is when she brought out the rest of out meals. She quickly left befote i could ask for the country gravy that should have come with the now cold biscuits. She looked and apologized. She brought two cups of gravy for me, my wife and daughter to share. Usually get a cup for each person. Then we noticed no spoon to scoop the gravy out. This only gets worse. The plates they brought our food out on where the wrong size for the meals we ordered. They were not the large oval plates the grandpa's country fried breakfast come on. They were smaller plates. Looked around to make sure i was not incorrect. Noticed other tables had the big oval plates. Reason this matters is everytime any of us tried to cut our steaks, tried to scoop up hashbrowns or eggs with our forks some of our food would end up on the table. I was done by that point. Only ate two bites of my food and none of the biscuits. Wife and daughter tried eating a little more than me but they stopped eating as well. We were already there for a while and had already finished our first cup of coffee and the waitress never came to see if we needed refills on our coffee. Did not even bring us cups of water. I informed the manager of our experience and he agreed we should not have to keep asking for parts of the meal we ordered (waitress fault) and also that our meals shoulf have been put on tbe bigger oval plates (kitchen fault). He said the last things brought out (should not be the first) is the biscuits and gravy to make sure they are warm and that we did not get the full amount of the meal we had ordered. He just apologized and asked if there is anything else he could get us. We were done, paid outrbill, left a vert small tip (only because my wife wanted me to leave a tip) and we left. Been to alot of different cracker barrels over the past 30 years. Never, ever had this situation happen. We were from out of town but if we ever go back to Destin, FL we will not be visiting the cracker...
Read moreThe service is not great at this location. To begin with we asked to be sat by a window seat there was hardly any business at all on this evening late evening that we went. We were refused a window seat, she was rude to us bc we were white folks. Plain and simple to see she didn’t like white people. she specifically stated as we seated, “ this is as close as I can get you to a window” it was literally in the middle of the restaurant, every single table along the window was empty, but immediately after we sat, the same hostess sat a black couple in the window seat and then immediately after that sat another black couple in the window seat next to that while we were left in the middle. She knew what she did. It was my anniversary and, I’ve never had a problem even on a regular day getting a window seat, even if i had to wait. However, this was a racism problem, little black girl at the hostess stand was racist against us because we were white. Plain and simple.
Since they are starting to change the menu and have some new items, I tried one of the new menu items the hash brown casserole, shepherds pie, it’s made with roast beef. Unlike some shepherds pies. The flavor was there, however , the meat was not, and it was very fatty and grizzly the meat that was used in it. But not only that to top it off as a very thin, hard fried like a rock piece of hash brown layer that can do without. it was so hard and so unedible that we just had to peel it off and throw it to the side and then we get to the middle and the meat is the way it is it was a $20 meal wasted right down the tubes. See pics, u be the judge.
it was my birthday day before as well. That day was my anniversary with my husband, so we were having an anniversary. Of all places. Birthday cake offer on the app , but let’s just say that never happened. It was supposed to come, and it never did much like my refill of sweet tea. Get a refill. It was not a sweet tea. It was a Coke. Gal was caught up with hostess and their new company by the window to properly serve us any longer. So no chocolate cake, no sweet tea. I got up and left. Took my tip that I had put on the table, my $10 tip that I was going to tip, but I took it and I left. Bought my birthday dessert elsewhere. Cracker Barrel is starting to go downhill and they’re not so great lately.I won’t frequent this location again when we go down next year or if I would choose to, I certainly wouldn’t let what happen to us happen again! Racist hostess needs fired you know when I was there and What i ordered take care of...
Read moreOn 11/28/24 (Thanksgiving Day), my sister-in-law and I dined at this restaurant. I ordered The Homestyle Turkey N’ Dressing Meal and my sister-in-law ordered a different meal, drinks and a kid’s Chicken Tender meal. Our wonderful server Ms. Barbara informed me the restaurant was out of cranberry relish and pumpkin pie. I was very disappointed because the items were included with the meal. For me, the cranberry relish would have added to the cornbread dressing to enhance the taste. I substituted another pie for the pumpkin pie. I complimented Ms. Barbara for her great service on this extremely busy day with customers. Then, I kindly asked if a discount would given since all listed food items for my meal would not be provided. She told me she would ask the manager. Ms. Deslyn, the manager came and asked how she could assist. I complimented Ms. Deslyn for the great work staff is doing on this extremely busy day and repeated my discount request to her. She listened and kindly told me she would look at my ticket. Well, when our kind server Ms. Barbara brought our ticket, to our astonishment, the manager Ms. Deslyn had removed the cost of my meal and a very large portion of my sister-in-law’s meal. We paid for drinks and the Chicken Tenders meal. This outstanding discount was quite a surprise. Often, reviews are written when service is less than expected. This review is written because the service exceeded my expectation and the food was delicious. Oh, please know that we were seated by Ms. Deslyn and did not know she was the manager. Thank you Ms. Deslyn and Ms. Barbara for adding to an outstanding experience at Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving Day! Your excellent service will long be...
