Came in tonight with my sister for the Fri 13 tatts. Didnt get the artists name as she didn't introduce herself, but the bald girl with a bridge piercing was passive aggressive for no reason. Sucks bc I heard good things about this place too, we did not leave happy.
She kept plopping my stencil down asymmetrically on my bicep after I told her I wanted it to match the placement of the tattoo on my other arm and didnt wanted it to twist when resting. I had her adjust it a few times before she got frustrated and asked "Where do you want it?!"...um, I told you. But for some reason she kept putting it towards the outer edge of my arm instead of on the middle of my bicep. I kept apologizing, and was trying to sympathize, telling her I'm not trying to annoy her with the adjustments and even explained that I've come across tattoo artists that make me feel like I cant speak up about placement or details, and regretted not standing up for myself or asking for slight adjustments after. I thanked her for her patience and she said nothing. In fact, she just kind of gave me the silent treatment the whole time, and kept convo to a minimum. Didn't get friendly energy. My sister got the same vibe too and we kept giving each other looks of "Are you seeing this?" On top of it all, I got a cross, something simple with no details and it's still somehow wonky. My sister got 3 stars and the line work isnt consistent. Great. I understand it's been a long day and we were her last clients, but that's no excuse for treating someone that's being nice to you like that. I will not be recommending this place to anyone, unfortunately.
Go to Emerald Coast Tattoo, they're nice!
Anyway, I came out on a whim hoping for a good experience but I got a tattoo kit a few months ago and will probably work up to being able to tattoo myself far in the future cuz at this point I'm tired of passive aggressive/rude artists making me feel bad for no reason and giving me attitude when I'm trying to be...
Read moreWhile overall satisfied with our tattoos, we were disappointed in the experience with our tattoo artist. My brother and I were really excited about getting a matching tattoo with our 79 year old dad (who was getting his first one ever). We both have had tattoos before and kept telling our dad how friendly and fun tattoo artists are. Talkative with fun stories, etc. Our artist, Web, was far from this. He seemed much more concerned about what was going on around the shop. He would get going on the tattoo and then stop and walk off to talk to or help someone else with something with no warning or explanation. If he wasnât walking off he was yelling at Alexa to change the music or to turn the volume up/down. He was doing this so much that the girl at the front desk was rolling her eyes. My dad asked for the placement of his tattoo to be moved and was given a sarcastic âokayâ without any explanation that moving it would be a little more painful. When my dad did ask Web questions, just trying to strike up a conversation, he was met with very short and to the point answers, making it obvious there would be no conversation. I know not everyone is talkative and people have bad days, but it was very disappointing (especially for my dadâs first experience) that there wasnât more conversation or questions about anything! Never even asked what kind of meds my dad was on (ie blood thinner). Thankfully we came prepared and he asked his own doctor before we left for our vacation. My husband, sister-in-law, and niece also got tattoos while we were there. Their experience with Spencer was a much different one than we had with Web. Spencer seemed very kind and offered conversation. We are definitely happy with our tattoos, but wishing it couldâve been a better experience. Would we go back to Atomic Frog? Probably, but we would request a...

HEAVY HANDED TATTOO ARTISTS and not the best work. I have NO idea how they have so many good reviews.
Iâm upset my sea turtle tattooâs eye almost just looks like more markings not even an eye. Unfortunately we didnât realize until after we left how bad mine looked and we already had to leave the next morning. Not that I would have trusted her to fix it. I really donât like having something on my body I donât like completely as my other two tattoos I have I do.
My husband also got tattooed here and his line work was iffy. They are not the same thickness around. (One part is thin one part is thick on all of them)
UPDATE: Got mine fixed finally (and it looks SO much better) and the person who did it actually moved from Destin she said this place is really overpriced. Also my husband does not like his tattoos at all, so heâs going to have to get his covered. The guy who did his had to have been heavy handed as his tattoos I can feel them raised thatâs not normal. (AND he got 4 smallish ones in different spots, so itâs going to take awhile to get them all done) This place was just a mess for us.
This tattoo I got here at Atomic Frog hurt not just like regular tattoos. She was going in way too hard very heavy handed. Almost seemed like she WANTED it to hurt. (Compared to just recently I got the same area fixed by this other tattoo artist by me and while it hurt like youâd think it wasnât near as bad). I also feel like she was annoyed when I asked her to move the stencil. Now I do like the body of the turtle the only thing I did like, but even my new tattoo artist pointed out some flaws in there as well.
