Personally, we first stopped in for a suit for my husband. Ben offered for my husband to try on one of Ben's personal jackets to get a better idea of size and fit. Ordering and fitting, as well as alterations, were all a breeze and completed on time. Staff are ALWAYS professional, attentive, and friendly. Professionally, as event planners, we refer our couples to Mainstream for the EXPERIENCE and the quality selection. Mainstream can work with virtually any price point, they are mindful of timelines with regard to ordering for upcoming events, and they are available for questions, special requests, etc. They will go above and beyond to deliver a curated experience for all members in your wedding party. The space is clean, comfortable, and inviting - perfect for just you or your entire wedding party to stop in for selection and fitting. It's never stuffy, though they offer extremely high end clothing as well as budget friendly options. And it's MORE THAN SUITS! They have some seriously trendy and traditional menswear items perfect for everyday. If they don't have it, they will find it. And if they aren't able to offer what you are looking for, they will readily provide you with referrals. We have always been able to find exactly what we are looking for, because Ben and Tom will go the extra mile to find that specific item, make sure it fits, get the color perfect, and deliver it on time! Mainstream got every single detail wrong for my wedding. They neglected to check the status of groomsmans suits and never realized they were backordered until after the wedding, causing them to have to order another type of suit that we never had a chance to see before hand. They forgot to order additional ties and pocket squares and ended up just selling us what they had in stock - we ended up returning the ties and pocket squares because none of them matched. Four out of the twelve suits we purchased were incorrectly altered, three of which weren’t done until a week before the wedding so the guys had to wear suits that didn’t fit. To top it all off, when seeing my groom on our wedding day for the first time we realized that they gave him the wrong suit - it was the wrong color. I spoke with Mark and was told that there was nothing they could do because they didn’t have the correct suit and that we would only be offered compensation if we brought it in ON THAT DAY. Mark actually thought it was appropriate to tell me to leave the salon on my wedding day in order to correct their huge mistake. He was unprofessional, inappropriate and rude. We went in for the first time more than 6 months prior to the wedding and were clear with Mark and Ben (the owner) on the details so there really is no excuse for all of this hassle. Over a recent weekend, and in Duluth for our granddaughter’s wedding, we had a last minute “wedding dilemma” when the night before the wedding our son, the bride’s father, discovered that the custom fitted and designed suit he ordered through a business in Minneapolis, did not fit ! At all. The trousers were at least four inches too short and the suit coat was too tight. Panic time. In looking online he found Mainstream Fashions a short walk from where we were staying and we were waiting at their door in the morning by the time they opened. Explaining in detail what happened the associate quickly took charge saying “don’t panic” this happens all the time”. From their huge assortment of beautiful, classic suits he fitted my son with a very attractive suit, and within an hour had the suit ready to go, pants measured to the length he needed and temporarily hemmed and steamed. Needless to say no one said a word to the bride not wanting her to stress out on her big day. We all hid our smiles when she first saw her dad at the photography session before the ceremony and she said “ Oh, Dad, your suit turned out so well, it looks so nice”! No clue this was NOT the custom made suit she had insisted on her dad getting for the wedding.
