I hope someone contacts me concerning this review. It was perhaps an hour before closing and I was coming home from a DC road trip. My sister had just closed on a home and I needed a gift. I normally would have never gone to Macy's for this, yet Bed Bath and Beyond was closed. So I went to Macy's. I'm familiar with the location as when clothing shopping I frequent it. I enter and head to third floor. I walk through the Backstage looking for the deals, I didn't find anything. I head to the cookware, I'm set on buying her a great set of pots. The section was in complete disarray and I'll reserve the specifics. After unsuccessfully looking around I decided I would make use of the restroom and then return to continue my search. While walking to the restroom I notice a lady behind the cash wrap and I ask where is the restroom. She tells me and then ask what are you looking for. I say the restroom. Thinking nothing of her remark and continued. After coming from the restroom, I notice there is another area to the Backstage area and it had some home decor that caught my attention. I look through it and then continue back to cookware as I found nothing. On my way to cookware, I notice a lady (she was limping) and she asked me did I need help. I respond no I'm heading back to the pots to focus and get what I came for before I end up sending more than I should. She engaged and suggests well you have about an hour. I continued to cookware. Now I'm back in the area and I'm deciding, however, to see what is what I open a box of Calphalon cookware as there was no display and the box was obviously previously open. Another lady from inside the seasonal shop area yells out do you need some help. I reply no. She then still comes over telling the displays are up top. I tell her it is not for this set. She insists and then after I point it out she realizes it's not. To continue to help me after my decline she trys to educate me on the prices. I engaged to appease her as I just wanted to be left alone. She then says that there is only register open so I'd have to bring it over there to checkout. I tell her I saw the lady by the bedding. She then tells the lady in bedding that I was over in cookware and what I had on, loud enough I could hear here in cookware as she was speaking in bedding, loud and clear. I continue to look. Then the lady from bedding comes over and ask if I needed help. Now I'm annoyed. I say yes and ask her to find a set that was on display that wasn't on the selling floor. She trys and couldn't find it. I honestly had no interest It. Again I wanted to be left alone. She then continues to help unwanted. I then just pull out my phone and facetime my sister ruining my surprise and ask her to pick because now even more annoyed I just wanted out of the store. We decide. The lady then heads to the register but I was then going to pick up the Calphalon set I open and put it back. Then I wanted to get some cooking utensils for the set I was going to purchase. I had to tell her, ma'am I coming I want to look for something else. She leaves. The. Another lady comes and walks past me at least 3 times just looking, never saying a word. More annoyed now. I go to the register and complete the purchase of the expensive cookware. The lady at the register says, I'm going to put a copy of the receipt on the box cause there are 3 cameras on you. I ignore her pay, and get the cookware and head down to the 2nd floor to exit. The lady with the limp sees me with the cookware that has both the receipt and Macy's handle on it. She steps toward the entrance and says has someone helped you yet I can check...I cut her off and say ma'am its paid for I'm trying remember where I parked. She did ask what did I see I tell her and she says ok this is your exit.
I want to be clear. I understand retail, I get shrink, theft, prevention through customer service. This was by far over kill and definitely along the lines of a horrible display of service. I can not express enough that I felt like a criminal and unwanted. I now have to...
Read moreCitigroup Inc does Macy's credit card offshore with foreigners who repeat what you say and sounds like English without getting it at all. They refuse to use email so you have to go to Macy's.com press credit card then use their secure email so you have no record of what you asked them nor any reply from them is saved in your email either. They fail to do what they say is right to do and fail to do anything in a timely manner. I should have realized when they could not send simple credit card with my wife's name on it to us. That too took ten secure emails and several months too. And then they sent it with the WRONG NAME ON IT. I wish I could see all those secure emails from June 2018 but convenient for them it is just my good memory that is left of all that wasted time and effort on my part with these NO SERVICE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I get it now. May 18 we bought $3150 furniture on 0% promo for 12 months. Only $1293 of it was coded as promo 0% although we only bought 1 purchase. We did not get bill until last Saturday July 6 from May 18. This was because they did not ship the stuff right to us. And some of it they shipped from Macy's was listed as delivered by USPS . So USPS said it was delivered but it was NOT. So now we owe $1964 plus late fees and interest. It was supposed to be $262 we owe. Store sales rep had to enter order as 2 orders because part of the order was a drop shipment. His mgr is Phil Logan and he refuses to reply to my emails and when I talked to him said it is on his desk and will take a long time to fix. No it is simple. Cancel the 2nd order and reenter it correctly and it will show on my Macy's bill overnight. Instead he says wait. So I contact Macy's 3rd party who does Macy's Credit Card for them and that is Citigroup Inc. They fail to fix it and send me BACK to sales rep and his mgr by name. I contact them again at the store and no reply for 3 days’ time. So I contact back Macy's credit card which is offshore Citigroup Inc doing that for Macy's. She says yes we will fix that for you. I log on to Macy's a week later still now and nothing done. So I send repeated emails to Macy's credit card and get 1 reply finally. They admit that the previous Macy's credit card "agent" got it fixed and would appear on my account on or about September 12 by which time 18% interest will be due and late payments and credit card slow pay on credit report. Do business with these people in their furniture store or Perimeter Mall main store ONLY if you bring cash. Do not charge ANYTHING with ANY of them. I really appreciate you telling me this is ON YOUR DESK and me to wait. You will NOT bill me $334 interest. We told you we wanted to save our cash. Now I read all these HORRIBLE REVIEWS of Macy's Credit Card Services by Citigroup Inc on Consumer Reports and I see that Macy's REFUSES to join Consumer Reports over ALL THE ISSUES with all of us using Citigroup Inc to transact credit card purchases with Macy's. I am TEARING UP your Macy's credit card I spent $10 thousand dollars on in the last year furnishing our new home. And I will NEVER step foot in your store in my lifetime. I should make you come pick up all your furniture since you LIED to me that we get 0 % percent interest on $3150 purchased from you May 18 and still on July 13 today 2019 have $1856 on 18% interest when we said we wanted to save our...
Read moreOrdered a Stearns and Foster mattress from this store in mid-January in person. While I was there I actually ordered a sectional that I liked as well. Jean, my sales person was awesome. But, that is about where the awesome ends for this dealing with Macy's. I scheduled delivery for the 7th of February - more than two weeks away. The NIGHT before the delivery (5:45 pm) U got a call from the Macy's deliver company saying they didn't have my mattress and they would be unable to deliver it in the morning. Well for most, this wouldn't be an issue- just a few more nights on your old mattress. Well for me, it was an issue. I was moving to a new place and wouldn't have anything there to sleep on so I really needed them to step it up and help out. The woman on the phone was more than nice saying that she would call my salesperson and he would be able to help. Jean called me and i explained the situation- he wanted to help but said he needed me to talk to the store manager. Something about his manger would say that he was just trying to help to keep a sale..... (Nice management style! Accusing your associates of being selfish and greedy when they try to provide customer service!) When Mike Bush did call me back, he was completely rude. Does Macy's really promote people to leadership roles who tell customers that it's not their problem and there is nothing that they can do? Nothing they can send until at least Saturday even though I clearly had an appointment still scheduled for delivery the next day? What about my time since I had taken off work and would have to now spend more vacation because of their inadequate planning? Nothing. I called corporate customer tonight as well. All they could tell me was that the mattress office closes as 5 pm. (Mind you a didn't get the call til 5:45 telling me they weren't following through on their assigned time.) The guy who helped was nice, however, when I asked to speak to his manager so that they could escalate the issue he went away and came back and explained it to me again. I asked for his supervisors name since they wouldn't get on the phone to escalate the issue and he immediately hung up! (Again, nice customer...
