My mother recently made a purchase at this Express store at the American Dream Mall in NJ. When she went to wear one of the items a pair of trousers for a special event, she discovered that the security tag had been left on. She immediately contacted the store and spoke with the manager, Ashley, who was completely unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of offering a real solution, Ashley told my mother she could either come back to the store or find another location to have the tag removed, offering no assistance whatsoever. My mother explained that she lives in New York and returning would be extremely inconvenient and costly. When she reasonably asked if the store would cover her transportation expenses, Ashley said no. My mother then asked if anything could be done to make up for the store’s obvious mistake. Once again, Ashley did nothing, not even taking the basic step of asking for receipt information to find out which employee failed to remove the tag. It is completely unacceptable for a manager to be this indifferent to a customer’s situation, especially when it stems from your store’s error. When a business inconveniences a customer, the bare minimum is to take responsibility and offer a meaningful solution. Ashley’s attitude showed a total lack of professionalism, customer care, and accountability. Someone who handles a store’s mistakes by shrugging and doing nothing has no business being in any management role. This experience was not just frustrating, it was infuriating and disrespectful.

Manager was pretty rude saying that express return policy doesn’t allow returned items without tags on them. She looked annoyed. And went on to say that this would be the only time she will allow this. And to not return anything again if the tag isn’t on the item. I have never had this problem ever anywhere In the past. I went online and checked return policy and no where does it say Tag need to be on the item.

Today I went to the American Dream mall and I was ready to walk out but Linda Rodriguez went out of her way to help me to find the perfect outfit for an event. Wow, I am speechless. In the last week I have visited 2 locations and I am happily surprised of their staff. Everyone was professional and willing to help. I purchase a suit for a wedding on Sunday, I needed to exchange sizes but was not aware they were closed on Sunday. I live in Massachusetts and was traveling to Maryland for a wedding in 5 hours. I was fortunate enough to see Tim and D’asia working on their OFF day and they were so gracious enough to allow me to walk in and make a quick exchange. I am so appreciative of their service and helping a brother out even when they’re not working. This type of customer service is hard to find these days. Super grateful. You guys are awesome!!...
