MAC Cosmetics — Local services in East Rutherford

As a former Obsessed member at MAC, I'm very disappointed in the customer service I received from VICKI at this location. VICKI needs training on her tone and how to deal with customers of different ethnic backgrounds. She's rude, has an attitude and is very condescending!!! Not only to me but also to the staff.

My mom & I booked a 15 minute makeup session as that was all that was available on the site and we initially just wanted foundation. We were guests at a wedding. As I was speaking to the sweet, nice MUA BLAIR, VICKI interrupted me several times to advise that full service was $125 of products. I said "Okay :-)". I asked BLAIR about lashes, here comes VICKI interrupting again to say $125 worth of products. I told her, I heard her and we agreed on what we'd get.

As she started to work on my face, I told her as a frequent customer of the MAC Makeup studio on Lexington Ave in NYC (now closed), you can just pay $30 for a focus feature like eyes, contour, etc. She starts yelling MAC charges $125 worth of products, and she's never heard of that. Her energy and vibe was so Negative! She's acting as if $125 is $1,000. If you're at this mall, I'd expect someone to have $125. I immediately told her, I do not want her to touch me. Bad energy is contagious! BLAIR agreed to do my 15 minute feature.

BLAIRs skills were top notch and she was positive, nice and very informative. She explained each product and provided excellent recommendations! My mom loved everything and wanted foundation, lipstick and lashes (over $125 worth of products).

When BLAIR started my makeup, VICKI walked over and stated she would start the 15 minute timer. This really turned me off, why are you worried about me, there are other customers in the store!!

I loved everything about BLAIR, her makeup skills and her customer service. My skin looked amazing as well when she was done!! She deserves a FIVE STAR rating.

VICKI gets ZERO stars and needs micro-aggression and sensitivity training!

This is the closest location since the one in garden state plaza is now closed. I have no interest in going to American Dream Mall especially because you have to pay for parking, but I really wanted to shop at a MAC store as well as redeem my Back 2 MAC.

The Back to Mac program is literally a part of MAC’s DNA and I have been doing it for about 17 years. When I asked for the lipsticks I was told I could only do the “retro matte” formula- untrue. I gave the associate the benefit of the doubt, maybe she really didn’t know. She asked to check my profile when I said I had done any lipstick formula in the past (obviously not powder kiss, or the new launch lipsticks). She checked, and checked and then said it doesn’t come off on the system but could manually redeem the back to mac for me.

I asked for 4 lipsticks because that is the maximum allowed per person, per day. I was told the policy has changed and now it is only 2. Another associate proceeded to explain that the policy has changed and if I wanted to do 4 my friend that I was with could do the other 2. I took my 2 instead of 4 and didn’t push it. My friend started to check out and I stepped outside into the mall to call The MAC store in Willowbrook mall and when I asked “what is the maximum returned empty containers per pay per person?” She replied, “24 for 4 items.” I told her that I am at the American dream location and I am being told otherwise. I was out on hold while she asked her manager. When she came back she said that the store would do the 4 for me. I did not return, and...

After reading the reviews of this Mac location I was a little skeptical to get my makeup done here for a wedding that I had to attend to last weekend.. when I arrived I was immediately welcomed by the employees working and one thing Ive always hated about makeup stores is that the people working there are always SO pushy! Not here. They asked if I needed any help after looking around and I caved. ( I was there already and needed my makeup done by a professional so I can look my best at the wedding I was going to in a few hours ) I had my makeup done by vjollca and Natali & Natasha helped on giving their input on what look I should do to match my dress and I lovedddd it!

I’m a beginner and don’t know much about makeup but it was great experience with Vjollca, Natalie & Natasha. We had small talk while they helped me gather a beginner friendly makeup set so I can start doing makeup at home. I wish i could post the picture of my makeup they did. I looked BOMB. I never had so many compliments 🥺 they did a great job making me feel beautiful and were extremely knowledgeable on what products were right for me and the shades. LOVE!!! would give this mac location 20 stars if I could!!!! Will definitely be returning. All these other reviews had me nervous...
