Baruch Hashem, I write to express my deep disappointment with the treatment I received today at The ADdress department store. I had selected a book set and was prepared to make the purchase, but upon seeing the total I became concerned. I noticed that The ADdress does not offer any military or veteran discount – unlike several other retailers in the American Dream mall – and this contributed to the unexpectedly high price. Politely, I asked to cancel the transaction due to the steep total. To my dismay, the sales associate insisted the sale must be completed because I had split my payment. I felt both surprised and ignored when my reasonable request was denied so rigidly. This inflexibility and lack of understanding left me feeling mistreated.
Moreover, I was troubled by the apparent disconnect between your advertised pricing strategy and reality. Your store claims to offer competitive prices, yet I quickly found that many of the same items – including the very book set I considered – are available elsewhere for far less (for example, online retailers like Amazon or other stores in the mall). This discrepancy is misleading to customers and gives the impression that The ADdress is not being fully honest about value. As someone who trusts the store’s message, I expected better transparency.
Given that The ADdress clearly serves the Orthodox Jewish community with its modest fashion and Judaica offerings, I had hoped that the customer service would reflect the values of care and fairness often emphasized in that community. Regrettably, my experience suggests otherwise. As a military veteran, I believed that at the very least the store would honor the sacrifice of service – perhaps with a token discount or even a respectful acknowledgment of my service. Instead, the handling of my concerns was cold and dismissive. I was appalled by the way the request to cancel the overpriced purchase was treated. No attempt was made to offer a solution or to show any flexibility, which seems particularly insensitive given the store’s focus on community values.
This whole encounter leads me to believe that The ADdress must re-evaluate its policies and training. I respectfully urge the store’s management – and even the American Dream mall’s ownership – to reach out to me directly to discuss this grievance. It is simply unacceptable that a veteran should be treated in this manner. The incident reflects poorly not only on The ADdress, but on the mall as a whole, given that other stores maintain a more respectful and supportive standard for customers who have served our country. I trust you will take this matter seriously and implement changes so that no other customer feels dismissed or taken advantage of.
Thank you for your attention to this serious issue. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution. Kesiva...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I received a gift card that expired 2 weeks after I got it. The store was closed half of those 2 weeks for holidays. I ran in, got stuck in massive football traffic, and couldn't find clothing in stock for me or my daughter, even online! Finally found 2 items. The checkout line was 20 minute wait. Had $ left on gift card & needed to return 1 item. Still managed to get back before expiration date and after Finally found items that were good and they informed me that the gift card had been one time use but their cashier never told me that!! Not only that, but they wouldn't let me return the item. The manager was extremely obnoxious in telling me this. Completely wasted gift card. Will NEVER...
Read moreTheir shipping fulfillment service is extremely fast. I’ve placed orders only twice, for cosmetics, since I learned of this store, and because I live in Massachusetts, and I’ve figured out that if I order up until Friday AM before the store opens, I get the order the next day; New Jersey to MA is very fast shipping, and this store fulfills orders very quickly. It’s worth the shipping fee for me if I’m not spending enough for free shipping. I now order from this business instead of the brand website whenever possible because it’s faster. I am looking forward to visiting this store, hopefully soon, since it’s a...
