Unfortunately, the experience ordering with this vendor was a negative one. The following was my experience:
I purchased the tree on a Sunday and the confirmation email made no mention of the fact that deliveries were only an option for New Jersey residents.
A calendar on the website presented the option to schedule a same day delivery. I did not receive my tree same day, nor did I receive any correspondence from the vendor between Sunday - Wednesday letting me know that I would not be receiving my tree anytime soon.
I emailed the vendor that Wednesday and the email bounced back despite my having used the email address listed on the confrontation email.
I then called the number listed on the confirmation email various times to no avail until “Kevin” himself finally answered. His first question to me was “how did you get this number” to which I responded “from the confirmation email”.
When we spoke, “Kevin” also asked me “where do you work” which I found to be strange. He also seemed to question the validity of my unnecessary response.
All of these things led me to feel that perhaps this was not a legitimate business. “Kevin” then continued to correct me despite my having presented facts around the order and lack of delivery, lack of confirmation, lack of communication, lack of valid email address. Perhaps because I was a woman questioning the facts? Unsure if this is standard practice.
He issued a refund and sent me the confirmation. A few hours later he called me to ask if I would like the tree delivered that day. I said “yes” but added that if it were going to inconvenience people the night before thanksgiving then I wouldn’t want to be a bother. He said he would confirm with me and asked me what the latest delivery time was. I was hoping to get the tree, but never heard from Kevin again.
I texted “Kevin” using the number to let him know that he had never gotten back to me and he responded by saying that It seemed to him that I was emotional and needed to vent, however, I was simply stating facts and letting him know that this behavior was both strange and highly unfair to a consumer who spent $100 for a tree.
I read some of this companies responses to the negative reviews below and the way that they completely bashed and gaslit another woman does make me feel that mine is not an isolated case or experience. I am a woman and I felt that he was trying to blame me at every turn instead of talking through the issues. Thank I do fully anticipate that they will respond to this review poorly and am ensuring to capture all of the facts. Many of which are similar to those others who have posted negative reviews.
If the practice of a business is to make customers feel as if they have done something wrong by asking questions around inconsistencies and items that were paid for and not delivered then that is bad business. I had to block his number because the texts were already taking a negative turn.
A truly negative experience. With so many other reliable vendors around, I would go elsewhere for some Christmas spirit and reliable service. The Better Business Bureau is also a great way to ensure that bad practices do not persist.
Updated: see their response below. This vendors ability to discredit others mimics that of Public figures who are currently...
Read moreThey are the true example of typical companies that will try their best to scam your money. I paid 90 dollars on the 6 feet tree. Plus 30 dollars delivery. Upon going to their tree lot, they said they “will” remove and recycle the tree. Did they mention that they will charge you money? No! Did they put it on their flyer? No! Did they put it clear on their website? No! Do you think us customers are so stupid that will fall on your trick again?! Are you really thinking this will make your marketing appear good? And do you think the customers will not tell their neighbors not getting your tree? Again, after many calls and email, they don’t ever mention once that they are going to charge you for delivery until you are confirmed to ask for the service.
And let’s talk about pricing, the regular 6 feet tree from a tree lot without delivery fee is about 40-60 dollars(from Walmart, Costco, Home Depot and regular tree lot). So there’s already the mark up here. And they ask for 30 dollars delivery fee. So you don’t think that Walmart and other retailers operate without value? No.
Don’t fall for their trick, they fool me once, and never again. And I am guarantee you, my neighbor and anywhere nearby. Will NOT get your tree.
Oh, did I mention they have couple of bugs released from the tree? And I experienced allergy reactions from...
Read moreHighly recommend Kevin's Christmas Tree Lot. Kevin and his team are great! They were very kind, transparent and informative in the tree selection process and showed us several trees until we found one that we really liked. Tree selection and quality is awesome. different types, shapes, and height all available. Prices are extremely reasonable. I did my research with other places and Kevin's prices are very reasonable and actually much better than other places. Plus you get great quality trees and great service. Service was great. they were very accommodating of delivery and time and went out of their way to get us the tree and deliver on time very quickly , which is pretty amazing given how busy things are. Kevin, the owner adds a personal touch and made sure we were happy with the selection, delivery and overall was great to work with. He personally followed up on delivery and making sure everything was good and in order.
Overall, Kevin and his team really made the experience nice and had a nice warm holiday feeling. No complaints at all and very happy with the tree and service. Will definitely purchase again.
Not at all affiliated with Kevin or his team and only writing this review because well deserved and was very happy with the tree quality, price and experience (including buying, delivery and...
