My fiancé and I are big collectors of antique/vintage items and am someone who dresses in a vintage/mid century style wardrobe daily so I really enjoy visiting my local antique and vintage shops in the area. Going to Old Town is one of my absolute favorite day trips, all the shops there are so beautiful and the people who work there are so kind and going to Stonehouse Collective is a must for me.
I just love the gorgeous collection of unique and well kept items. Going out to shops like this is how I expand my wardrobe and find new pieces to decorate my home and I can’t ever seem to leave this place without taking something home. I also always have a lovely chat with the owner every time I stop in as well. I have so much appreciation for stores like this that not only have such beautifully crafted collections themselves but work with other local vintage collectors whom I frequent and love as well. It’s wonderful to support my local small businesses but I am also thankful for places like this that find such incredible pieces - furniture and clothing alike - and truly value how special they are. So if you’re a vintage girl like me or if you just love to check out these treasures for fun, I can’t recommend this place more. Just a truly great spot and one of my all time favorites in the state. I am already looking forward to...
Read moreThe owner refused to use my $30 gift card to pay for the items I wanted to purchase which cost $26.00 dollars plus $1.54 in tax. She claimed that I needed to pay cash for the tax, and that she would not accept a credit card to pay the tax. I honestly was so confused because the gift card was paid out in cash for $30.00 dollars. Finally, a nice gentleman behind me felt bad and offered the dollar and change to cover me since I had no cash on me and she was being so unkind to me. Thankfully, I was able to leave after being treated like dirt and so unkindly. She did not even offer me the $4.00 for my gift card, which I could careless about. I actually told her to please spread kindness and use that $4.00 on the next customer that purchases something from your store. I can’t believe someone could be like this to someone else. So unkind, ungrateful and not a nice human being. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS SMALL BUSINESS!! I love supporting local too. Good luck to you...
Read moreLeaving two stars because this store has a very nice curated collection of antiques and vintage clothing that I’ve perused over the years. That leads me to this afternoon - I was walking around OEC window shopping and decided to stop in. I had a can of colorless seltzer water in my hand because it was in the 80’s outside. 30 seconds into looking around, the store employee looks at me and says with 0 emotion “can you put your drink on the counter?” No greeting, no “hi, how are you?” Just that. I’m a firm believer in it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it, and if drinks aren’t allowed, I’d understand that and comply if it had been conveyed to me in a nice way or a way that didn’t come off as if I was gum on the underside of her shoe. I left because I’d rather spend my hard earned...
