So I started going to this store when it was "The Record Exchange." As a broke teenager in the 90s having access to a ton of used CDs and Cassettes was amazing! I found so many bands that would become important to me. And to be able to pick them up for a couple of bucks from my food service job was so great. About 30 years later, things have changed, but thankfully not for the worse. The location is now in a much bigger building! I honestly had not been in since they relocated but I'm glad I did! So much more than just CDs and Cassettes now. I've been going on the weekends to look at vinyl and while the Metal selection could be better, I've still found a couple of gems. The only thing that bums me out is the lack of cassettes. There are a few floating around but I miss browsing the used tapes. I found an original Misfits Evillive cassette back when I was probably 15 or 16 for $1.00!!! To this day, that is the best dollar I ever spent. The internet of course has made collecting and finding amazing deals like that much more difficult but I still enjoy the nostalgia blast and the vinyl selection....
Read moreJust visited this old-school Video Game & Music Exchange in Elyria and I was blown away! This place is a hidden gem for anyone who loves vintage gaming, anime, and music. The shelves are loaded with classic video games, rare anime action figures, collectible vinyl, and all kinds of nostalgic treasures. It felt like stepping back into the best parts of my childhood.
The staff was super friendly, helpful, and clearly know their stuff. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do, and they make everyone—from hardcore collectors to curious kids—feel welcome. It’s also very kid-friendly, which is huge for parents like me who want to share a love for retro gaming and music with their kids.
If you’re anywhere near Elyria and even remotely into retro games, anime, or old-school music, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Places like this don’t come around often anymore. Can’t...
Read moreLike most places, they don't give much for trade ins. Not a big metal selection and couldn't find any good newer bands. I can appreciate them supporting local artists in the music case as well as having 2 signed Derek Hess posters which was cool to see. It might be the other way around after seeing how much they were asking. 😂 TBH it could be a sold out item or rare. It was too high up to get a good look. Buy low sell high or super high, that's what happens when the feds raise the rates and min wage. Cost more to eat at McDonalds than Applebee's for 2 people. Anyways, it's a big store to swap, barter , trade and buy games, movies, music. Nothing to exciting. Staff is attentive and seem pretty cool. I don't watch movies so it could be your new spot. There is no reason why I wouldn't go back if I...
