Selection and prices were what you'd expect from a beach bargain store. We felt the employees were nice and overall great first impression. Rated them a 2 star for the following: My son picked out a $60 boogie board. It was very sturdy and seemed higher quality than the foam boards. Being tourist central we expected the high price. The board stated that it came with a high quality leash. When we brought it home we realized no leash was included. We went back to wings and a male employee told us that this has been a problem in the past and no leash is included. He offered to take a leash off of a small board which we declined for safety purposes. He understood and told us to bring the board with the receipt back for a refund. We arrived back board and receipt in hand and were told no refunds were allowed and he was new. The whole process was terrible and time consuming. The store is selling items not as described at a high markup. They ended up making it right after requesting that corporate be called and a long back and forth was...
Read moreSome of the staff here is atrocious. One of them insisted I was breaking a pet law, which I have already researched several times prior and in depth and know for a fact I wasn't, then proceeded to threaten me, follow me out to my car, cause a scene in front of people in the parking lot, then after all that, wouldn't get out from in front of my car all because she couldn't accept that she wasn't right. This didn't stop until a coworker of hers told her she needed to go inside and leave me alone. Then she had the audacity to comply with her coworker by going in but continue to trash talk me to said coworker in front of my girlfriend. There's a huge difference between "I think this might be a problem so let me check" and "I know based on nothing that this is a problem and am going to take matters into my own hands." I come to Emerald Isle every year and often wanted to stop in here, but I will know now to take my business elsewhere next trip. This is beyond ridiculous and all this store has is a generic selection of touristy beach...
Read moreI’ll never pass up stopping in here at least once EVERY winter and summer season. In the winter you can score great deals on clothes, towels and blankets and every summer there’s something new. They also set up displays that sell local made items. Most recently, I bought several handmade stone sea turtles and a stingray, all from which proceeds go directly to the local sea turtle conservation efforts. I’ve also recently purchased two giant, gorgeous and well made Mexican blankets (one pictured) at this location. They always have a great variety of swimming suits, towels, hats, beach chairs and bags, sunscreen, sandals, boogie boards and skim boards, beach toys, lots of oceanic home decor, trinkets and jewelry and more. Every year I grab some anklets and bracelets, sweats and towels along with adding to my local koozie collection. Definitely a one stop shop for all your...
