We were in Estes Park a week ago and had a great time going in and out of shops in town. My husband and I (plus four kids) went into the Christmas Shoppe to look for an ornament for ourselves and our nephew who was with us. I warned everyone of the one finger touch rule, but the woman smiled and were nice. While looking around my cross body purse nudged a snow man who's legs were hanging off the shelf. He fell and his hat broke. There was no one around. I picked him up and the pieces and took them to the desk apologetically. I told them what happened and said I was very sorry. We then continued shopping and purchased two ornaments. As soon as we picked them out I took the kids outside and let my husband pay. Once I was gone the woman informed my husband he would be paying for the snowman. She recommended him knit a hat to put on top?! I was upset that they didn't say anything to me when I handed it to them, nor when I was there. They waited for me to leave. I called them back and and she said that he had been on the shelf forever and not been knocked off. I recommended they put them up higher. I wasn't running through the store or acting crazy. I was simply walking around. I asked why she charged my husband, especially when we bought other items, and she said she would have the owner call me. After two calls, the owner has still not returned my call. It is also not posted anywhere in the store 'you break it...
Read moreI thought this was the best Christmas store I've been in. The hard wood floors and wood desk in the front gives the place a traditional cabin feel. Not to mention the Christmas decor blends well with the wood giving it a very pleasant look. The music is inviting and the staff was exceptionally pleasant.
