Unfortunately I was very upset with my experience here, Me and a couple of buddies have spent the whole day at Rocky Mountain National Park hiking and exploring the national park. On our way back we decided to check out Casa Grande since we were starving and had no other choices. Firstly coming into Casa grande was a very enjoyable experience, a very cultural atmosphere and I expected no less than the top of the line Mexican food that they have to offer. We got seated almost immediately and had our orders taken quickly and efficiently. Everyone in the group of 4 had ordered the Chicken burritos ( Recommended by our waiter) and a water for the drink of choice. The food came out in no less then 10 minutes and as we take a look at our plates the food itself looks amazing, on the other had a buddy of my didn’t want Chili sauce all over the burrito and was very surprised that it was a smothered burrito and not a plan burrito. ( Smothered burrito with chili was not in any of the food description on the menu.) we had finished our waters and our waiter had not came and took a look at our table and asked if the food was okay or suggesting to refill our waters. My buddy hasn’t begun eating due to him not enjoying his burrito being smothered with chili. On the other hand me and the remaining of the group members chowed down on our food. All of us being in a shock of surprise that the burrito had no taste. No seasoning at all, from the chicken to the little to no rice that was put in the burrito, the chili itself didn’t taste like anything at all and was cold. The burrito was stuffed to the brim with outrageous amounts of un seasoned chicken that almost tasted like canned chicken with a tuna consistency. About 10 minutes go by and my buddy still had been waiting on our waiter to return and give him his new burrito and 4 refills of water for our table. We asked about 2 other waiters/waitress for a refill on our water. As we all didn’t finish our burritos and had no water filled even till we received our checks it, no one enjoyed their food and nor was any water refilled during our 30-40 minute stay at Casa grande as it was a very...
Read moreNow I understand the inconsistent reviews.... We visited this restaurant on July 2, 2022. Everything was fantastic! The service was prompt, the atmosphere on the patio by the stream was delightful, the margaritas were strong, and the food was delicious! We enjoyed it so much that we went back on July 4, 2022. The second visit was horrible! There was one waiter who had to cover all the tables on the patio. When he greeted us and asked for a drink order, we ordered the same drinks that we had on our previous visit, also both of us requested ice water and chips and salsa (which you have to pay for at this restaurant). Our drinks came out in a timely manner, but we had to ask a second time for water. The margaritas were not nearly as good as the first time we were there. They were very weak and had a strong taste of the margarita mix. We waited about twenty minutes or more for our chips and salsa, which he said would be right out. Tables all around us were being served chips with queso and guac, but he never brought out our chips and salsa. After several more minutes I told him to just cancel our chips and salsa. While we were waiting for our food, the woman at the next table was served her meal and she had to ask for silverware. She had to sit and wait for silverware while her food was getting cold. When I overheard this, I asked the waiter for silverware so we wouldn't have that same experience. When our meals finally came out, the food was good and we enjoyed that. We had to wait a bit for our bill to come. When it finally arrived my husband paid it without delay so we could finally leave. He made the mistake of not looking it over before he paid. In the car he told me what the final amount on the bill was. The bill on the second night was six dollars more than the first night and we ordered the EXACT same thing!! After our first visit I would have given this place five stars. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one was the actual dinner...
Read moreWell, I don't know how this restaurant is rated so highly in the reviews. Maybe because I have higher expectations, coming from Texas, where true Mexican food(really great Mexican food)is so easy to find,at any price range? I've found that most times, the quality of the chips and salsa you receive prior to the main meal are a good gauge, of the meal to follow. This proved true here, unfortunately. The chips were a huge disappointment. They were thick, oily, cold, broken and seemed just way too old tasting, for the turnover this place receives, being in a very touristy town, where people flock to any available restaurants around mealtimes. The tiny cup of salsa was obviously not fresh. It tasted very cold,to the point that it felt like it had been previously frozen. Really? No fresh salsa,at a Mexican restaurant? The follow up entrees were equally a thumbs down. The cleanliness of the restaurant, even in very public areas, was also lacking. The small hallway used as a side exit continued the apparent "don't care", attitude there too, where even with my well tread hiking boots,I almost slipped on the greasy floor! No way would I reccomend or return to this restaurant. Actually I am usually up in the mountains already, but there had been a high amount of rainfall, so I was left looking for a good meal in town. I would have been better off just having one of my meal bars out of my backpack. There are some great little places to eat here, but this wasn't one of them. The prices were also too high for the menu offerings, though you are sometimes willing to pay more if everything else is good. Sorry, but for me, this place was...
