It was my very first time coming here and I did not have a good experience. I was initially excited that there was an Uptown Cheapskate close to home but now I’m not sure if I’ll be back to this one.
I brought my clothing items to sell and ended up waiting more than 2 hours for the employees to sort through my items and I was never notified that they were ready. Never received the phone call.
When I first entered the store, I was initially told by the staff that it would be 45 mins to an 1hr after I checked in, and then I would receive a phone call letting me know that my items were ready.
I told the staff member that that was fine and that I’ll shop around in the meantime while I wait. I had no problem shopping while waiting and I didn’t mind waiting an hour at all. About an hour passed, and there were two items that I picked out to purchase. Two pairs of pants that I absolutely loved.
I knew that they were not finished sorting through my clothing items that I was selling so I asked the two staff members if I could put these pants that I wanted on hold until they were finished sorting through my items. They told me, “Yes, no problem and that they would hold those two items for me until my items were finished being sorted and reviewed.”
I did a little bit more shopping in the store and then decided to go sit in the car while I continued to wait for them being finished. By this time another hour had passed and I figured that maybe they were just really busy and behind on sorting items. Well, it wasn’t until I saw the two employees who I initially talked to walking past my car (they didn’t see me) to their cars to go home that I realized maybe they had forgotten about me.
I immediately then went into the store and asked about my items and the polite gentleman told me that my items had been ready and he told me that they should have called me an hour ago to let me know.
I then asked him about the two pairs of pants that I had on hold and he went to look for them only to discover that they weren’t there. He explained to me that they were not in the “holding area” that they were supposed to be in and that he had no idea where the other two employees had put them.
Needless to say and as you could imagine I was very frustrated at this point because I had already waited more than the time I was told, I never received my phone call to let me know they had finished with my items, and if I had not went back and checked myself on the status of my items, I would probably still be waiting...On top of it all, the two items that I wanted to purchase-I didn’t even get to buy because they were simply misplaced after the two former employees told me that they would hold it for me.
Overall, just not a good experience and impression especially for my first time.
I will say that as far as the store goes, it is clean and well organized but the staff members need to make sure that they are paying attention to their customers and their needs. I understand that the majority of them seem to be in high school but they seem more interested in having conversations with each other and rushing out as soon as it’s their time to clock out than focusing on what’s happening in the store.

Read moreMy wife went to sell our clothes on her day off. She went with four bags and they barely took any of it. We had clothes we had never worn before, some with tags, name brand, etc. They advertise that they accept and are looking for gently used name brand clothes; we even checked the website beforehand... however, they just didn't live up to what they advertised. We had new clothes from Torrid, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M, Under Armor, Calvin Klein, etc...They didn't accept them for some reason.
They asked if we wanted to give them the rest of the clothes to donate that they didn't accept. Due to stealing from similar places in the past (not this place), we said no and donated somewhere else on our own. Before my wife left, she asked why they accepted one of two practically identical shirts (Tommy Hilfiger: one was navy and one was aqua... same exact shirt, just different colors). She was told that the navy shirt would sell but the aqua one wouldn't. Whatever...
We got all the way home only to receive a call that they forgot to give us one of our bags. Due to our schedule, my wife had to go back AGAIN the same day for that bag and we stopped by the donation spot AGAIN and went through the clothes and AGAIN they skipped out on name brand items that had never been worn before.
I genuinely do not think that the kids/ staff there know what they are doing... except wasting our time. I mean, one of the kids that worked there was literally wearing pajamas and another was wearing sweatpants... not a confidence booster in thinking that the staff there will take their jobs seriously and treat customers fair. I am not saying the kids need to be all dressed up, but I think pjs are pushing it... How can they deny brand new clothes when they aren't even dressed appropriately?
With all that being said, they were polite and quick (maybe too quick to go through the clothes? I am not sure.. I really am dead serious when I say I am not sure they went through the clothes)... what I do know is that we won't be back. It was truly a waste of time.
Advice to management: maybe a dress code, even jeans and t shirts would be better than crocs, sweatpants, and pajamas. Take time to go through clothes. No false advertisement.... I am sure you can go from there... (please don't respond. It just makes me cringe bc I seriously doubt anything will actually be done).. thanks?...
Read moreI came to sell some clothing and I have always done the leave the store option. Never has it taken them the entire shift to call me back for my items. My boyfriend and I went in together but to sell our own things. He did pick the stay in store option but ended up leaving for some food anyway. The staff seemed to be ok with it. we turned our items in around 10:45am and he got a text less than an hour later. I ran multiple errands to pass some time. It had been 3 hours since I last went in there. Of course when I went in to ask about my things I was frustrated because My bf and I were the only ones who turned things in before others came and did the same. The lady clarified to me I was the only out of store waiter. I get there's no time frame with out of store I GET THAT.. I went in and she was going through my bag finally, but says she has 4 others before me bc they prioritize in store. Again, I GET IT but I have been one of the first ones to drop things off, You have 3 to 4 people working, You're telling me NO ONE was able to get the only out of store waiter out of the way!? It was RIDICULUS. To make things worse, I ended up calling them an hour before close ( I ended up going home ) bc I wasn't hearing back. No text, no call. A different shift was on then and the guy told me it had BEEN ready.. since early in the afternoon, and he was not sure why I was not notified. To sum things up, my items ended up being a "pass" which meant nothing was accepted. You CANNOT tell me that was intentional. I went to the Dallas location the next day and they took 7...
