I took my car in last week to have my new tires mounted, balanced and an alignment. I dropped my car off at 8am and it still wasn't done at 5pm. I waited there for 30 minutes for my car to be done just to drive it over 45mph and have my streeing wheel shake meaning the balance was not done properly. Took it back in today to have it fixed, the guy that test drove it knew right away the balance was done wrong and he was able to fix it today, but they said they would call me when it was done and they never did so I show up at 5pm to see if I could pick my car up and the lady at the front desk didn't know what all they where suppose to do to the car (wasn't organized i guess) so when I asked if I could pick my car up she said they didn't get it done and then asked what all where they supposed to do to the car and I told her I brought my car in last week to get tires mounted, balance and an alignment and the balance was not done properly because my steering wheel did not shake when I brought it to you guys last week and now it does because the balance is not correct. Then she started getting rude with me even got the paper work out to show me that the alignment was correct when I left so its not there fault its messed up and I would have to pay for another alignment and that they couldn't get it done till the 11th and told her the alignment isn't whats messed up, whats messed up is the BALANCE and I asked did they take all 4 tires off and fixed the balance and she said yes they did that and she handed me my keys. If you want things done correctly the first time DO NOT GO TO MAIN...
Read moreI've been hesitant to post this since the owner comments on every negative review and blames the customer, but we had a terrible experience with this shop and I want to share. They had our car for nearly 4 weeks. During that time, communication was minimal and I had to keep calling for updates. The final bill was almost double what they quoted me, yet no one kept us in the loop that costs were adding up and would far exceed the estimate. In addition, when we got the car back, my windshield was cracked, the headliner and visor were covered in dirt and grease, and most troubling of all, the engine sounds terrible after spending nearly $4k for them to “fix” it and I have no confidence the job was done right. This shop is probably fine for routine maintenance, but if your car breaks down near Fairplay and needs major repair, do yourself a favor and have it towed to Denver.
UPDATE 10/10/19: Coolant reservoir kept emptying so I took it to my trusted local shop. They discovered the radiator cap was bent, there was seepage along the radiator seem, as well as minor trail on inside edge of fan shroud, and it was losing pressure slowly. They suspect this damage was caused during the repair when removing and re-installing the engine. So now I have to pay for a new radiator, cap, and flush & fill. Even more infuriating, they discovered the rear timing cover was never installed or the tech said they might have broken it while installing it improperly and simply threw it away. Unbelievable. So now I have to pay another $1100+ to fix Main Street Garages mistakes. I will be seeking...
Read moreBrought in a snowblower tire that would not hold air because the beading around the tire and rim needed to be resealed. The wheel is about the size of a frisbee and could easily be fixed in 5 minutes. Summer teeth receptionist (some are there and some are not) took my information, told me I could wait in the lobby. After several minutes it was apparent they weren't going to work on it any time soon, so I asked if they needed an hour or 2, and that I could come back. This was about 1:00 pm, she proceeds to tell me they will need it til the end of the day. If you need 4 hours, how about saying so instead of telling me to wait in the lobby FOR 4 HOURS?!?! I was annoyed, but agreed to come back later, but first asked her how much this would cost. All she would tell me was "it will be less than $30." Well it better be for a wheel barely bigger than my hand. Came back several hours later and the wheel was still laying on the counter where it was when I left. I took my wheel and walked out the door. I returned home to the city the following Monday and took the wheel and tire in to Discount Tire. They took it in back, fixed it and I was out the door in 5 minutes. These people are idiots and wouldn't last a day in business in a town that actually had some...
