I tried to like these guys… like really tried. New fly shop in FairPlay? Sign me up! We’ve needed a good fly shop for years. Well, unfortunately this isn’t it. Let’s start off with being “open” when you say you’re gonna be open… I’ve pulled into this shop at least 10 times during “open” business hours with nobody in site… even waited to see if someone would.. who opens an hour+ late and closes early in the fishing industry?? even on weekends? 99% of the people you sell to are on the water already by the time you guys open… and your closed by the time I’m off. The 1 of 2 times I did make it in, I asked where 2x tippet was and they looked at me funny and said nobody had ever asked them for that… but they’d order it. The second time they said they forgot to order it and asked where I was fishing 2x… well idk who your selling to that actually fishes in South Park without 0x-2x regularly… but it’s not locals.
Maybe I’ll try again in a few years but this is the first fly shop I’ve walked into and actually walked out of without buying anything… I’m only giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly and I hate writing this review but maybe something...
Read moreWe are renting a cabin in Alma CO and my wife was at the store and had me on speaker talking about trout flies and Ty’s wife was standing behind her and told her about their shop. My grandson and I went there today to get some flies for our spinning rods and ended up buying a rod for my grandson. They set it completely up for us and before we left they showed my grandson how to cast and again explained everything in detail when we went back to pick it up My grandson has already mastered the cast and is across the road fishing in the creek Thank you guys for making this such an easy and great experience. If you need any type of trout flies or lite tackle this is the place. They also tie a lot of their own flies. Awesome place and awesome people

Read moreMy wife and I were visiting from Ohio, on 9/18/24 I hiked up Mt Sherman for my first 14er. I had my fly rod but I had broken off the tip. They fixed that for free. so I bought some flies, they sold me a license, and gave me directions to the public lake nearby. I had a blast, met some cool fishermen and caught about 9 trout, even some on flies I tied and brought from Ohio. Thanks to Ty's for such...
