This used to be my go-to fast food pizza place, but the past several times I’ve ordered from here it’s been a nightmare.
Most recently, I ordered in 10/31 and when the tracker said the order was ready I headed into the store. My order was ready around 7:15pm according to the tracker.
To my surprise, there were at minimum 10 other people also awaiting orders. I could tell the staff was beyond over burdened and after waiting an additional 20+ minutes, I had to leave without my food as my kiddo was tired and needed dinner and bed. While waiting, I spoke to a man there who had placed his order for immediate pick up at 5pm and STILL didn’t have his pizza when I left around 7:45pm.
Prior to that, I had an issue with delivery service on 10/23. The order was placed at 5pm and during that time my delivery window changed 4 times and ultimately before I cancelled it was expected to deliver at almost 7pm.
When I called in, I was greeted by the most disrespectful employee. He answered without providing his name and I asked “who am I speaking with” he proceeded to respond by saying “a Papá Johns employee.” When I said I was asking for his name he replied “well it’s not John. I’m Nick.”
Despite the extremely rude welcome, I was kind and understanding. I wanted to know what was going on and if my delivery time was going to be bumped yet again.
Nick proceeded to tell me “well I don’t know I just got here.” He waited about 30 seconds after that statement to advise he would check on my order. After several minutes he then advised there was a problem with the ovens that happened just before he arrived and my order would be “on its way soon.” I asked how long that would be as I have a hungry family to feed to which he said “soon.”
I then asked “are you a supervisor?” because the option I chose when I called in was to speak to a supervisor. His response was “I’m not a supervisor, but I am a boss.” At this point I was over his clear disrespect and asked to talk to a manager. That manager assured me everything would be “handled” and gave me a cupón code for 40% off….. which is not nearly enough to have dealt with that entire situation.
Moral of the story is DO NOT order from here if you’re looking for respect, good customer service, quality, and a timely order. It’d obviously not going to happen...
Read moreI placed a carry out order for 2 pizzas for pick up at 415pm. I received a text message at 405pm that the pizza was ready. I walked in at 410pm, told the young girl dressed as a pumpkin my name, she informed me the pizzas aren't ready. I notified her that I received a text that the pizza is ready, she then asked my number. I was assuming she meant my cell phone number, I started saying my number and the pumpkin girl gives me the biggest eye roll, she said what's your order number. I said oh you didnt specify, I then provided the order number from my order confirmation. The manager (I'm assuming she was the manager, comes over and says we don't use order numbers here, I said oh well your staff member just asked me the order number and she gave me an attitude, the manager then becomes incredibly defensive, starts arguing and lecturing me in front of several other customers that that "you have to understand that we have tons of orders and you need to be patient." I said I understand that but I'm trying to communicate with you that I received a text message that my order was ready. She then walks over and goes oh we had to re make your pizza it's in the oven. Instead of apologizing or taking accountability, she lectured me and was rude and demeaning. Then, the thought comes to the back of your mind, they will probably spit in my pizza. I said I'm not trying to be rude, I'm sorry, I'm trying to let you know that I received a text that the pizza was ready. Seriously I understand that it's a busy night and dinner rush, but if you mess up, you should at least admit your mistake. I worked at cwp for over 7 yrs, 15 yrs ago and I know what it's like to be busy with a full dining room and carry out orders. Your manager that was dressed up like a corpse bride needs to learn customer service skills and how to treat people with respect and apologize for mistakes, sometimes apologizing can make a difference. I pre-paid for the order and tipped $5. I guess I got a lecture and the manager wanted to treat me like trash after providing a tip for carry out. The pumpkin girl was young and clearly not aware of her non verbal communication, but the manager should know better. She's got a few other nice complaints in prior reviews. Keep up...
Read moreI rarely ever get papa johns - but every now and then, when I do, it ends up being a awesome night with my family with some great pizza to make it even better.
However, this is my first time ordering from this location - and to call it a terrible experience is a understatement.
Not only did we get the wrong pizza, but we all got sick from it. Most of us were fortunate enough to only have a stomach ache (mine lasted all night long until the next morning, hardly could sleep). One of us however ended up vomiting later in the night... it was pretty bad
The pizza tasted OK though I guess - one slice was ruined to one of those pockets of air that form on the crust, but as someone who worked in pizza delivery myself, I know you likely have a fork to remove those pockets before they get too bad. I am not surprised at all that the staff there let the pocket get so bad it ruined an entire slice, considering the rest of our experience.
Also - we like to do contactless and let the driver know to leave at the door, especially since kids can be sleeping. The driver this night at this pizza place (Drove a black truck) banged on the door and rung the door bell... which no other pizza place has done so far since I moved here, most have been really respectful, especially since we tip well.
As I said, I have worked in pizza delivery myself not so long ago, so I get how it can be. But we tipped rather generously, for only a 6 minute drive?? Even when I would get cheaped out, I wouldn't be this reckless and apathetic to a customer.
Never ordering from this place again most likely. I would honestly avoid it unless they get new management and...
