American Legion Post 54 — Local services in Fernandina Beach

Can I give a ZERO? Came here this evening and was greated by the rudest lady. I called last night to confirm that the Thursday evening bingo was kid friendly and I was told it was. I arrived for bingo and within a couple of minutes a lady yelled out "I know there is a child in the room, so you don't need to tell me." She then walked up to me and my 9 yr old daughter and said she could not play bingo. I mentioned I called the day before to confirm it was kid friendly and was told it was. She stated she runs the bingo and the bartenders have no idea what goes on with the bingo. I was told my daughter wasn't technically allowed in the room with me for bingo and she had to stay in the hall. Then she allowed my daughter to be in the room with me and I told my daughter she could help look at my cards with me. The lady was rude and had a nasty voice and told my daughter she would be kicked out if she touched my bingo card or dauber. I ended up leaving and taking my daughter to stay with someone because I had bingo cards purchased to play. I won and the lady said to me "now are you glad you stayed?" I told her the money I won would go to my daughter since she made my daughter cry from being so rude to her. The lady in charge said "if I didn't like it, I could leave and not come back." This is no way to treat a person or a child. We are here on vacation and we were looking for something fun to do as mother and daughter. That bingo leader should not be leading the bingo, she had smart remarks to several people throughout the night. I hope the leader of this post 54 sees this and does something about the rudness of people within this...

Steak night on Saturday was awesome. We had a New York Strip with a large baked potato with butter and sour cream, house salad and rolls. The quality of the meat was excellent, tasted like prime cut. We were there to support the entertainers. 2 J's were great...fun evening. Open atmosphere with great music. BBQ night...delicious.
