The food at IKEA used to be great. Now it feels as bland as the people hired to serve it. It comes off as no one caring about the customer.
The amount of apathy here is mind-boggling. There were no coffee beans in the hot drink machine. When asked if it could be refilled, no one knew or cared to find out if there were more. I was told, “We’re out. There’s a problem with our supplier.”
Maybe 20 minutes later, a savior with a yellow shirt, a blue bandana, a brain and (probably) proper training appeared. He miraculously found coffee in their storage location.
Many workers I encountered were on their phone at some point throughout our stay. One man in a hairnet serving people was handling his phone, which was unsanitary. They looked at patrons without any emotion, mindlessly reciting the same commands. “No substitutions. Gravy or jelly? Have a nice day,” were repeated in a voice as empty of emotion as the drink machine was of coffee beans.
I wish IKEA would close this café rather than let this void ruin the reputation of its...
Read moreWe drove an hour out our way to shop, and eat supper. I have never had issues with IKEA food courts. In fact, I’ve had multiple amazing experiences in them. The signs said that the bistro was going to close at 8 then the cafe at 7. We walked up to the cafe at 6:40 just to find that they had closed the line. There was a couple being served. A gentleman walked in front of us right in to line, past the sign and ribbon. We asked the cashier if they were still serving and he said no that they were closed. We let it roll off hoping to go to the bistro after checking out our items. We were to the front by 7:05 just to find that it was also closed. I’ve never left an IKEA sad before. But I’ve never left without my meatballs either. I’m extremely disappointed. It’s fine they closed, I understand things happen. But at least put signs that have hours that obviously...
Read moreWe used to enjoy the eating here after shopping. That definitely changed today. My daughter loves the meatballs & always requests them. However, this time they make her get peas with them instead of a different side she would eat. The lady said you have to get it exactly like the picture. We have eaten here several times and she was able to get a different side every time before. So now I am paying for food that nobody will eat, just wasting food and my money. The lady also didn’t ask if we wanted the jam, she just slopped it on top of the meatballs. She doesn’t like the jam. It was a horrible experience. We will definitely not be...
