There is so much going on here, so far as shopping & dining, it's difficult to write an inclusive review w/o composing a full-on article.
To summarize, then, this is a big "hotspot" for anyone in the Brandon/Pearl/North Jackson/Richland & other surrounding areas, & of all ages/across all demographics — to gravitate toward for many reasons & occasions.
I, personally, have gone to this area for a fun night out (Caddyshanks is the best place to hang out w/friends, watch the ball game, play trivia, & to try new & close-to-home brewed beer!); to find &/or compare the best deals when shopping for clothes or gifts (Kohls, Target, Hallmark, Ulta, SteinMart, Victoria's Secret, etc.); trying new foods & counting on fave stand-by's to please the pickiest of eaters while catering to every budget (a few faves include: Panera Bread, Mcalisters, the Half Shell, Mellow Mushroom, El Sombrero, & Illegal Burrito, among others, ha!); home decor (Pier 1, HomeGoods, Lowe's, Hobby Lobby, etc.); & a lot of other specialty items.
Initially, the area itself took up about 4 blocks of real estate, with the main intersection at Hwy 25 & Old Fannin Road. However, because of its continued growth & popularity, this "marketplace" has extended greatly in all directions!
A note about travel: Because of the almost constant growth & additions to this area, there has been quite a lot of road work, in an effort to make the roads safer & the stores more accessible. As of this writing, in September 2017, the main areas being worked on are on both sides of Hwy 25 (aka Lakeland Drive), before the "marketplace", if heading to or from Airport Road.
That said, if you're reading this as a visitor & have plans to be in this area, I suggest leaving about 10 minutes earlier than usual with exception to the following: → If you happen to be driving during rush hour (7:00am - 8:30am; 4:30pm - 6:30pm)
→ Friday or Saturday evenings (6:00pm - 8:30pm) → During the Christmas season from Thanksgiving day, until the 25th
In these instances, I suggest leaving a good half hour...
Read moreNice shopping area with several stores I go to often. Also lots of vehicle traffic that gets bottle necked on the crazy way that everything is laid out. Maybe not so much the layout inside the area, but the little access in and out of it.
Update.....back today. Real nice place and interesting shops. However I don't think the execution of the layout, parking and roads through it is as good as the Renaissance up in Ridgeland. You just don't want to stroll around walking and browsing shops. You just want to get in and get what you need then get the heck outta all...
