Michaels — Local services in Flowood

Went in today 5/27/24 with my mom to look at some frames. Was never greeted even though we past several employees. Every section of frames had “buy 1 get 1 free” signs up. We picked out 2 frames and went to checkout. They are mostly self checkout now with just 1 cashier at the front. Frames did not ring up but 1 get 1 free. Pressed the button for help.. employees walked around and no one came to help. Tried getting a guy over and he just ignored me. Finally got the cashier over and she didn’t really know anything. She just said “if they’re not ringing up that way they must not be on sale”. She took our stuff over to her register, rang them up again, and said the same thing. “They must not be buy 1 get 1 free” and stated they probably aren’t “mix and match”. I simply went in to get some Washington tape. I saw an idea for identifying keys. We have rental property and I thought this would be a good idea. Got my tape quickly. As I was taking a quick tour of the store I saw they had moved the wedding area from the cramped side aisle to a much more prominent location and visible from the main aisle on the way to the checkout. My daughter got married last October and I was in Michaels a lot. We used silk flowers and most of them were from Michaels. I met a young woman there who was planning her wedding. I asked her if she used the Michaels App and she said no. I told her there was a 50% discount on one item. We parted ways. There was a HUGE stack of canvases on top there was a sign that read $10.99. I made it to the register with all my other items . And I noticed that the price for the canvases rung up for $12.99. I then told the cashier (who was on a personal phone call using ear buds) that they’re suppose to be $10.99 she then proceeded to tell me oh that’s old. I then said there is a sign on the canvases that says $10.99 and you’re suppose to honor what the sign says. She then called a manager over and she said oh that’s old we can’t honor it. I just left everything at the register. I understand that businesses my be short staff but it’s not my fault that they didn’t remove the signs.
