Baya Bar Acai & Smoothie Shop — Restaurant in Flowood

I was so excited to try this place everybody I talked to gave it such good reviews when I went in today. It was definitely not what I had heard from others. The place itself is very cute and in a great location, but being greeted by an employee that was standing at the very back of the building and saying “what do you want?” is not very inviting as a customer. especially when I’m ordering from a new place I like to ask the employee their suggestions but she wouldn’t even walk up to the counter. So I just went with something that I had seen on reviews that looked very popular, which was Pacific beach. It looked really good and I was so excited to try it, but when I took my first bite it was not it. So I thought maybe I need to mix it up and it was still not good. The base itself tasted like cardboard. The granola tasted like wood chips. The fruit tasted like it had been sitting out for a couple days. They were very mushy just overall the only thing that was good in that bowl with Coconut. I will definitely not be going back...

My boyfriend and I ordered toasts. I ordered the fresco and he ordered truffle. Mine was SUPER salty and his was barely salty and barely had lemon on it. He also ordered an açaí bowl and says it’s ok. I ordered a kale smoothie, and the smoothie was warm? And not filled to the top… it was more like juice than an actual smoothie. All this was $40, and I honestly don’t think it’s worth it. If you want GOOD smoothies or açaís, go to tropical smoothie or smoothie king. The atmosphere is so unique and welcoming, however, the lady who took my order at the front was just not friendly and lacked good service. First time and last time...

Had such a great time the young man that took my order was really kind and helpful and made my visit so good I came again and also the team there was awesome really friendly and helpful, and they made sure everything was perfect.
