This recommendation is 100% a review for the manager, Josh. It is not a reflection of our experience with the rest of the service or the food. We dined at the BWW in Flowood, MS.
On Mother's Day, we decided to try BWW for lunch. We arrived at 12:45 and was told our wait would be 20 minutes (which was perfectly fine!). At 1:11pm, we received the text that our table was ready and we were seated at a booth.
It was around 10 minutes after we were seated that we were greeted by our server. We decided to go ahead and order our meals at the same time we ordered our drinks - we were hungry and ready to eat! We ordered a Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, a kids chocolate milk, and a kids water. For our entrees, we ordered two kids chicken tender meals, 10 piece boneless wings with fries, and a classic chicken sandwich (no pickles, add cheese) with fries. About 10 minutes after placing our order, our serve stopped back by our table and asked if it was a chocolate milk for our toddler. He then went to the back and got the milk, and didn't return with our other beverages until 7 minutes later (yes, I was watching the clock. We had been here for 20+ minutes at this point and I'm pregnant and was hungry.). The water brought out for our 3 year old was in an adult cup without a lid. We had to ask for a child's cup, which again, took several minutes.
My husbands classic chicken sandwich and fries came out of the kitchen first. Our server explained he was having trouble putting our order in the system and the rest of the food would be out soon. Fifteen minutes later, we still didn't have the rest of our food and my husband, being the good man that he is, was waiting on the rest of his family to eat. By this point, our hungry toddlers had eaten all of his fries and were getting very "hangry". We tried several times to flag down our server, but he never acknowledged us. It was then, we asked to please speak to a manager.
Josh came right over to our table and was immediately responsive. He made us feel heard and appreciated. We explained that we didn't know where the rest of our food was and he went straight to the kitchen to investigate. As he went in to the kitchen, our food was brought out. Josh came back out and let us know that he would have my husband's chicken sandwich remade so that it was fresh and hot.
Our meals that were brought out, unfortunately were cold. Not lukewarm, but legitimately cold. At this point, we felt like a bother and didn't want to keep complaining so we just ate our meals (they tasted fine, were just cold).
Our server never once came back to our table to check on us. We both needed drink refills, but he was blatantly ignoring us and avoiding eye contact. We tried several times to get his attention to no avail. We eventually got his attention and asked for our check. It was at this point that Josh came back over and told us that he'd like for our lunch to be on him. We can't tell you how much we appreciated his kindness. We had obviously had a less than desirable dining experience and we were so disappointed and his kindness made all the difference. We tried to tip Josh, but he wouldn't accept it. (We did leave a tip for our server.)
Before speaking with Josh, we had pretty much completely written off BWW at Flowood for the foreseeable future. His kindness and efforts to remedy the situation made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The only reason we may return to this location, is because of...
Read moreWaitress Ronni was blatantly rude to my group of people. She literally must not understand basic polite conversational dynamics. Everybody at my table was among a group of very relaxed and not super critical group of people who wouldn't usually think twice about such a thing. However Ronni's consistently rude way of putting things did in fact affect our experience there. For example, when asking for my ID upon me ordering a drink, it was simply "Give me your ID." Not that I'm offended by anything like this. Just seems silly. A girl at our table ordered desert, and she straight up denied her the dessert, saying "Girl you don't want a dessert the way this ticket is looking." and walked down to the other end of the table without saying another word. I couldn't believe it. This girl had been trying to order a desert the entire time but Ronni never merely gave her the opportunity. Ronni was consistently making excuses on her lack of performance as a waitress due to our relatively large party size. She had also never heard of a few of the beers they have on tap, and asked me a million questions about what "Andygator" was upon me simply trying to make the order for one. Came back and said they were "out".
I've been here a time or two before and service has been better than this, so I am well aware that this quality (or lack thereof) of service is not always the case with this BWW location, but I do thoroughly believe they they should keep trying their best to ensure the quality and competence of the staff they hire and upkeep. Overall the food was good though and I have no other complaints otherwise. Place was pretty clean and have a fair amount of alcohol selections...
Read moreWow, I have NEVER been more disappointed by a BWW. I'm a regular BWW patron at the one in my own town. I frequent them when traveling, so I've been to a few, from Texas to Virginia and all points in between..... I've never seen anything like this one.
My server was wonderful, and tried her best, but the kitchen and bar..... nothing was right. Everything our party, OF 7, ordered came out wrong or not at all. Hard to believe, that under proper management, any restaurant in the Jackson Metroplex area would be out of anything going into the weekend. Especially on a Friday ay 6pm.
Also I understand Covid has made issues for everyone, but when the manager just wonders around aimlessly, the kitchen staff can't put together the BWW menu items, (mind you NOTHING was special ordered..... straight off the menu, no addition, subtraction or substitution) and the wait staff seems overwhelmed, while the line of people grows, with 4-6 empty tables in each section...
Time to shut the door for 2 weeks restock, retrain and reopen.
Of course after telling my family, that lives in the area, about my experience..... they all said "Oh no, never go to that one. Only go to the one by the Rez." So, lesson learned, if you want BWW in the Jackson area, head to Ridgeland.
and just for my personal point of reference, for the "what does this guy really know about it" crew..... over 16k in rewards points....... yeah I do BDubs pretty regular, I know what right looks like...
