I did a take-out a couple of nights ago, and I must say that whoever your cooks are (note: I said cooks, because there's a difference between a true chef who is passionate about food and a cook) during the evening/dinner shift must hate their job or must secretly hate their employer. I ordered the cheese fritters and the 5-layer lasagna...taking advantage of the happy hour special which still added up to a little over $16.00. I got home and was eagerly anticipating some good grub. Sadly, I was totally disappointed. My fritters were burnt as if they'd been left over and forgotten as they sat in hot grease cooking away. The two delicious dipping sauces were not even enough to salvage them. I was so disappointed. I forced myself to finish off one of the three telling myself that the next bite would be different...smh!!! Now, on to the lasagna. When I can attest that I've had better frozen microwavable lasagna that what I experienced from you all the other night, I am not exaggerating AT ALL!!!! I cannot even began to break down everything that was wrong. To sum it up, if I had to describe this concoction of what sat on my plate, I'd say that it was some leftover lasagna that had been cooked from a previous day that had been frozen, thawed, and topped with some fresh sauce. I could hardly cut into it with my plastic utensils. SAD!!! I really appreciate that the manager rectified my terrible experience by refunding me my money AND giving me a meal on the house. So, you would think that all would've been well from that point forward. NOT THE CASE!! So, I get home with my replacement dish of chicken Alfredo. How simple of a dish is that you ask??? Who can go wrong with making such a simple dish??? Well apparently, NOT SIMPLE ENOUGH!!! I get home only to find my pasta(mostly stuck together) covered in a watery consistency of a white sauce with strips of chicken (that could have def been cooked more)laying on top. I took a few bites but couldn't really get a taste of it due to the fact that the dish just wasn't gelling together. I decided to refrigerate it and try again for lunch the next day. When I go to get it out the next day, it had gelled into a big glob. I ended up working the chicken out of it and placed the strips in the oven to cook some more. I seasoned it up some more as well. Then, I put the remaining glob of gelled sauce and pasta in a boiler to reheat and try to salvage. In the end, my chicken came out OK. After reuniting the two, I could only eat so much before I just gave up and trashed it. As the saying goes, I guess: You get what you pay for!! In this case, the freebie was def not worth it. Amerigo's is such a beautiful establishment with such wonderful ambience. I love the atmosphere!!! I think that the owner's should be mindful that the food quality is consistent no matter what time of the day. I don't know if he need to invest in a CHEF as oppose to cooks or what, but this is definitely something that he needs to thoroughly investigate before a few "bad apples" in the bunch run the risk of ruining the reputation of his fine establishment. The food has to be the highest of quality... especially when I can easily go next door to a restaurant chain such as OutBack and get my favorite pasta dish off the menu and have it taste great consistently each and...

The seafood pasta was phenomenal as usual. I'm not sure how the drinks typically are, but we were celebrating and the two we had were delightful! My dinner companion was marvelous, but credit for that goes to my awesome mother in law!
The cheese fritters didn't disappoint!
The not good:
That was literally the worst steak I've ever paid to have prepared for me. Like, I've personally screwed up a few ribeyes in my day... but I've never paid for such an over cooked and over salted ribeye. I've never even been served one as bad as ya'll gave me on Sunday. It was actually impressive depending on how you look at it lol but it was busy, thing happen. I was shocked and appalled by the canned green beans on a 37$ plate, though.
I couldn't bare to send my entree back either, we'd waited for nearly 45 minutes for any food to reach our table. Then we were given the wrong entrees. The couple next to us as well. Then we all chatted over our drinks (thank you, again, Mr/Ms bartender) about how long they'd been waiting. The table on our other side had an 18m old and a 3 year old and were waiting an eternity as well.
So... are ya'll okay?? Was there only one cook for the church rush?? Did your green beans supplier fall short?? I've got a great green beans guy if you need one. Freshway produce, Richard will set you up nicely!
I'm sure we'll be back, because ya'll's seafood pasta is my husband's favorite, but it'll be a while, I need to emotionally recover from the CANNED green beans, goodness gracious. I need to find a therapist for the trust issues I've developed since those came out.
This was our first child-free date since our 3m old was born, and ya'll served canned green beans. Not even frozen, but water logged, canned green beans.
I can forgive the ruined steak. It was busy. Things happen. The wrong plates come out, or get mixed up-- good food isn't fast food.
But the CANNED GREEN BEANS were intentionally, ya'll...
Read moreThe food was pretty good but the service was sub-par. We arrived around 7:00 pm on a Sunday and were promptly seated. We ordered an appetizer and some proseco.
Actually, let me stop there. The first waitress who came to our table took our drink order. I asked if they had Proseco (this is an Italian restaurant, mind you). She said she was unsure and said she would go ask and turned around and left. A few minutes later, enter the person would woul wait on us the rest of the night. She, at least, knew about Proseco.
We ordered what they described as their most popular Proseco and were shocked to lewrn about 10 minutes later that they did not have any chilled and that it would be another 10-15 minutes before they had some ready. Seeing as the appetizer was taking a while, we said that we would wait.
About 15 minutes later, the waitress came by to say that our meals should be about ready. I asked about the appetizer. Our waitress asked, "oh my gosh, did you order a bruschetta?". We said that if our food was about to come out to forget the bruschetta.
Our food came out a few minutes later and the person who brought it asked if we wanted parmesan. I said yes but never got it. Perhaps if our waitress had come back to ask how the food was, I could've reminded her that I asked for parmesan. With her difficulty remembering customer requests, perhaps she should carry a pad to write stuff down instead of feeling on her memory which, unfortunately, failed us during my wife and I anniversary celebration dinner.
I have this place three stars because the food was really delicious. So...if you don't mind sub-par wait service (or perhaps you'll luck out and get a good server) then you might enjoy this place. If you're the type that values the quality of service as much as the quality of the food then you might want to try a...
