United States Postal Service — Local services in Folly Beach

This post office is the worst of the worst! We have our mail forwarded in the months of June, July and August to our summer home in Michigan.We set it up in person every year. Instead of forwarding they "return to sender" . We have missed bills, taxes, wedding invitations, packages, sympathy cards for a family death,etc,etc ...we've spoken with them on numerous occassions about the issue,.this is not complex..like other reviews on this page we find them rude... Amazon has a note on my account to not send packages to Folly via USPS because we've had so many "Did not receive" re-orders ....I've had the post office in Michigan call them directly ...even they say they are totally incompetent! When we returned to Folly last September we were not receiving mail ...when questioned, the office worker said. "Oh, I forgot to take the forward sticker off your box" even though we went in person and filled out the form...so everything for two weeks went back to Michigan...lost forever ! Close the...

I am disgusted with this post office. I received an e-mail from USPS that a package had arrived on Thursday of last week and was ready for pick-up. I went in to pick up the package and was told that even though it was in the building, it had not been processed yet. I asked when it would be ready for me to pick up and they told me they didn't know. I asked the manager what I was supposed to do, come in every day until it was ready and she told me that's a good idea. Are you kidding me? It is now Wednesday of the following week and I have been to this post office 4 times and still have no package or even an ETA of when I can expect to be able to pick it up. I guess customer service is not a priority to USPS. Another week has passed and still no package. My package was there on Thursday, October 15, 2020 and it is now Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks. This is a very small post office and they can't find one...

Another day at the Folly Beach post office and another entitled Folly Beach resident attempting to bully the postal clerk. Yesterday I witnessed a resident harassing the postal clerk about something (admittedly I wasn't really paying attention to what she had to say.) She was wearing a "be kind to everyone" T-shirt but she was absolutely ruthless to the clerk that was trying her hardest to help. This has gotten out of hand, there's no sense of community on Folly anymore. Community is about how we treat each other in the most difficult times and if not getting our packages when the website says we should or having to fill out some extra paperwork to get our packages, is the most difficult thing we have to do during the day, let's do it with a sense of appreciation rather than...
