I never EVER write reviews because I do not usually allow things to get to me BUT this one got me good. I brought my watch in on November 14th, 2023 to this jeweler to be repaired. I was told by John at the time, it would be 7-10 business days because the watch needed to be sent out for repair. Being upfront, the watch needed a new battery, the 12 had fallen off, and another ring inside of my watch came out so both of the pieces needed to be re-glued inside of the watch. Seems like a simple repair? Right? Right. Two weeks passed, I gave the jeweler a call to find out the status of my repair and I was told they were backed up so the watch was still sitting to be repaired. Two weeks later after this, I gave a call to find out the status once again and John notified me that he would call me back to find out the status of the repair. I got called back this past Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 that my watch was ready for pickup. Great news! I picked up my watch on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, and paid cash at the counter with John (~$40 after tax). I had no problem paying. They did me a service and the watch to what I was told was fixed. Taking well over a month to have my watch fixed when I was told differently is unacceptable. At least give the customer a call...almost makes you feel as if your jewelry got lost.
What I will accept blame for this time around is not checking the watch before I left the shop. Yesterday, December 21st, 2023, I took the watch out of the plastic bag they gave me to put it on and realized that the #8 inside of the watch was completely nonexistent when I went to fix the watch to tell the correct time, the same ring that was told to me that it was re-glued, was still loose inside of the watch and not allowing the minute hand to go past #2.... so still broken!
I brought the watch back to the shop today, December 22nd, 2023, and explained the issue that I had which then led to a full argument to one of the employees that works there. Not sure of his name or if he is the owner but terrible customer service. Both employees looking at my watch saw what I was talking about and the gentlemen told me straight up, "We will get you a new estimate for that" to which I replied "Oh, I am not paying you again", which is correct. I am NOT re-paying AGAIN for a repair that still is not fixed. I brought it to YOUR shop to have a battery and two items glued and get it back with the same part not re-glued and a piece of my watch MISSING. What am I paying you for? To find my missing piece that your jeweler LOST??? Out of your minds. I was then told that I do not understand apples to oranges and the gentlemen continued to give me scenarios as examples that I honestly could give two for..ex....bringing your car in for transmission and then the brakes stop working. So, you losing a piece of my watch is my fault? I cracked open the watch and magically made it disappear. Too funny! So I was told to give me a refund which I knew was to make me leave so he did not have to take responsibility for what happened. I was also told that I should not be getting upset. Well, if you nicely spoke to me and not so condescending, maybe you would have received nicer treatment but to each their own!
Repulsive. Never will I go back here no matter how many good reviews there are. Usually out of reviews, you can see who the problem is but this time, not me!
So now I am left with a missing chunk out of my watch and the same piece dangling around. Great job people!
Let's do better...
Read moreI dropped off mine & my husbands wedding bands on Thursday March 15th to be engraved. I asked if I could wait in the store for it to be done even if it would take about an hour or longer even though the store was relatively quiet at the time. I was told that it would take approximately a week and that they needed to send it out so I was unable to wait for it, even if they were not busy. Reluctantly I agreed and I gave the rings. I was promised to be able to pick them up no later than Monday, March 26th (which is more than a week's time) and they would call when they were ready. Since March 26th was my birthday, my husband told me that when I picked up our rings I could get myself a nice birthday present too. I arrived on Monday, March 26th at approximately 11:20 AM to pick up my rings and allowing myself some time to shop for my birthday gift. Upon arrival, I was told that the rings not only were not yet finished, but the work had not even been started! I am not even sure why the rings were left untouched for a period of 11 business days! I was COMPLETELY and utterly disappointed. I was then told that if I wanted to wait, they would engrave them right now for me. At this point, I was extremely upset because the product was not completed, my husband and I have not been able to wear our wedding bands for the past 11 days, and when I originally wanted to wait for my rings to be engraved on Thursday, March 15th I was told that they needed to be sent out, this was not done on sight and therefore I was unable to wait and it would take roughly a week.... NOW after they have NOT completed the work I am told that I can wait for them to be engraved now or pick them up later today. I think not. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE business practice. I will not be giving them any business and I highly suggest you don't either. If you can't trust a jeweler for something as simple as an inexpensive engraving.. why should you trust them with spending hundreds or...
Read moreMy boyfriend bought me a beautiful white gold ring with an aquarium stone surrounded by diamonds last Christmas, about 5 months into wearing it (always taking it off when washing my hands, showering, doing things around the house etc.) and diamond fell out. I reached out to carrolls and asked if they could fix it, to which they said yes. I just now got the ring back, and my first day of wearing it again, the same diamond falls out.. I'm so upset and disappointed. Not to mention we live in Chicago and bought the ring on vacation, so it's not like we can just drop the ring off to get fixed, we have to ship it out. I spoke with John and asked if l'm able to switch the ring out with something else similar being that diamonds keep falling out and I figured they would have some kind of year warranty, and for selling a faulty ring that was very expensive, to which he said absolutely not and questioned how I've been wearing the ring (comparing to it that of a wear and tear of a car, suggesting I’m being rough with the ring? 2 completely differently things) A diamond shouldn't be falling out period, let alone after ONE DAY of wear after JUST getting it fixed. Absolutely ridiculous. I sent it back and I’ve reached out twice inquiring about the ring after they’ve had it for over a week, if I can trade it in for something else, just some insight about what’s going on and I’m always greeted with a very rude response and how inconvenient it seems I’m being. Please, go elsewhere if you care about the quality and longevity of your jewelry, and the protection and guarantee that the jeweler should provide, because it’s not existence...
