Mercado Event Center — Local services in Fort Worth

We had our wedding here Saturday 4-7-18.Great location! We had 300 people. The venue was spacious. Plenty of room for our guest. Our cake was DELICIOUS! Who ever made the cake did an amazing job! There were a few things that disappointed me and my family. They are only at this location on Wednesday evenings. So we had to set up The Wednesday before our wedding. We arrived on Wednesday (3 days before our wedding) 3 of the ice chest behind the bar was full of water so my family had to clean them with bleach, I guess from the previous party. I mentioned that the bathroom needed to be cleaned and there was no soap, I was told the bathroom would be cleaned and restocked the day of our wedding.

I was told when booking the Mercado we could come in on Friday, the day before our wedding to practice. Well that changed. No one was available to come to the hall Friday until late that night. So we practiced under the foyer from 7-8, and no one came to the venue so we all just left.

We arrived Saturday at 3pm to finish up a few things at the venue. That bathroom was restocked but toilet paper was placed on top the the toilets, not on the rolls, and there was dry pee on the toilet. The restroom was never cleaned.

I also noticed most the white lines were stained. I told a female on site and she called Jessie, I spoke to Jessie about the linens but she said I didn’t request NEW linens just clean and pressed ones, that she has a receipt for. Clean linens was stated in the contract, not new. If I wanted new linens she could bring them but if they are ruined I would be charged $35 per linen. She did offer to switch them out but it would be when my guest were there because the linens were in Grand Prairie in a storage. I didn’t know I had to request new linens, I just assumed they wouldn’t be stained. And I wasn’t going to make my guest get up, clear off their table just to put new linens. Our guest were arriving at 5PM. So we were running short on time.I was even crying to her about the issue. It was a little embarrassing but the wedding continued. I also requested our up light to be changed to purple. And that was never done, so we had different color walls. Another thing that bothered me was as my guest were arriving and there were 2 gentleman walking back and forward across the dance floor with a dolly full of dinnerware from their storage. And taking up space in the elevator with our guest.

We also paid for security that never showed up.

We were suppose to clean off the tables before we left the venue, but we didn’t for the reasons listed on this review.

The ice machine was broken as well, so we were unable to rent that. We had to bring our own ice which made the ice chest more heavy to carry.

The elevator attendant was at least 15 years old.

The bartender was very friendly, our guest really liked him.

There was another gentleman that was there with a black cowboy hat I guess watching the venue over by the kitchen. He on the other hand was very rude and was arguing with my family and calling us names. He even began to smoke a cigarette in front of us in the venue. I just told my family to take our things and leave.

Jessie and her daughter were cool and very helpful when we had some financial issues. But there were a few things that did upset me and my new husband. BUT that didn’t stop us from enjoying our wedding.

I tried to leave a review on their FB page but for some reason they blocked me from leaving a review. Which is why I gave them 2 stars.

My sister got the venue for my nieces quinceñera, we were disappointed on the customer service that we got. The venue itself was very nice with the decorations & cake. Food wise ok, not the best the fajitas were cold. The disappointment was the owners customer service, we understand that the owners sometimes want to be there to make sure everything’s going well. However, the problem was when the owner went up to our guest at the end of the night telling them that my sister was not going to get her deposit back because the balloons had confetti & it got on the floor, he would not let it go he kept going on an on with other guests. I want to clarify it was a small amount of confetti, only one or two balloons popped. Our guest felt very uncomfortable, they told him that’s very unprofessional of him to go up to the guest disclosing information that should be discussed with my sister & brother in law since they were the ones that got the venue. DEFINITELY DONT DO MERCADO EVENT CENTER! Mercado Event Center

They have the worst EVER! They will add on stuff that wasn’t on your contract!

We got their entire package(highest package) they were always slacking on dates(like the dates for us to do food tasting/cake tasting, the dates for us to go and view set ups on tables) the servers only got 1/2 of the venue served in the required hour or so. They had extra people there who were not our invitees and were eating after hours that the food was closed.

Actually our family went into the kitchen and warmed food up because the venue had their people there eating after dinner was closed.

I would definitely not recommend them!

Not only that but she will post pictures of your child without your consent as soon as you give a bad review like mine!
